I agree with you Devil dog.
I know someone who did it on his face. Years later he got rid of it with laser treatment. He is lucky he didn't loose his sight in his right eye.
My dad had tats he got them when he was young but faded as they got older.

No regrets on the tattoo but the big biker artist in San Diego knew it was my first.

I asked how did he know? He replied,

Cause it's so small ohwell

Size doesn't matter.

Just start with the tip and see how it feels.

Boing!!!! That made me all funny in the pantz laugh

What DevilDog said about the age thing...

Do people at 18 think they will NEVER live past 30 or become grandparents & have to explain the stuff on their faces/necks/arms (visible body parts)to inquisitive/rude 5 y.o. grandkids when they are 70 (much less their own kids when they were little)? Also, the more intricate the design the more likely to fade/"move"/alter as the skin ages & slackens. I wonder if there are any studies on the amount of people in the U.S. (excluding convicts) who are grandparents that have tattoos?

Also, for both genders: you will always have to explain the tattoos to each new partner so think 10x before putting on the name of anyone who is not a family member.

A tattoo should have cultural or memorial meaning since it will be with you forever. Just b/c it looks cool is not a good reason to do it.

I have 2, that can be viewed in my pics.

Both were planned & are VERY special to ME & MY life.

I think that is how tat's should be & all should be able to be covered, if necc. LIFE is a long time. REALLY THINK about marks that you will carry on your body.

I love getting tattoos had two names put on me one gone over with a black heart the other got a tattooist to put a line through it as did not want to fully cover it up as its first wife and spent 8 to 9 years together and wanted to remember how I felt for her !

WINGS38

Positioning tats where they can be covered, to me is just planning ahead. I have been to several weddings, where brides maids were embarrassed, by shabby tats showing on their back, in a beautiful backless gown; known several people that were told they were "not qualified", for a fantastic job; great salary, benefit, etc: do to ink that could not be covered. Two were given 90 days to get ink removed & job was theirs. Tat's as everything else in life, need planned with the future in mind.

Opinion of Old Sage.

Yes, my idea is you grow up. Tattoos are just tattoos.

If you want to see evil everywhere, you will find it.

I love the show Tattoo Nightmares. It is always the ones with the ex's names that get me. Like they say on the show if you get someone's name it is almost a given that it will not last.

I have a lot of ink. My right side is a beautiful collection for my family that has grown into a garden.

My left hip was a mess. Never go to a tattoo party and wait for everyone else to get theirs. Since mine was going to be the largest the Artist wanted to wait. He did a great job on the others so I felt confident that mine would be great too.

I had waited over a year to get the one I wanted. Had a picture that I had pulled up on the lap top there. They could not print it out for some reason. So he drew it up free hand.

You know where this is going. At 1am in the morning he did his interpretation of what I wanted. It was messed up and I cried for days. It took me years to find someone that would finally do a cover up and it cost me $600.oo.

I dont regret a thing as I never got one and never will as I dislike them. If some suggest it was in commemoration of someone, well that's what alcohol is for. Some may say they got one after celebrating a something, well again that's what alcohol is for.
