If you were in a relationship with someone who lies about what they are doing and you know that they are lying. How would you handle that?

If you were in a relationship with someone who lies about what they are doing and you know that they are lying. How would you handle that? Leave. No explanation required. No point in talking about it. That would just be drama. |

You should confront them instead of ignoring it. How will they know that it bothers you and it was wrong?

if you suspect its a little white lie
such as 'no honey that dress is not too tight' that's one thing if you suspect he is a habitual liar or she is.. walk away |
|

I would ask them to confess their lies..
for example... I know one of you moved and rehid my stockpile of Kleenex boxs.... I'm not going to point any fingers...lol . I will just turn around and close my eyes....... and.. the responsible party or parties.... can just put them back.. Ok...1 2 3 4 5 ...6............7..................8....... oh(( come on))).......9......... *#%@%%&%......10.... ...... OK NO MORE ALLOWANCE FOR ANYBODY....**&%@#%..... . |

You should confront them instead of ignoring it. How will they know that it bothers you and it was wrong? If they lied & mislead & deceived & withheld pertinent information from you, then it was intentional & they know it. I don't consider cutting all ties as ignoring it Leaving them is their consequence that they brought on themselves. " You lied to me & it's over ", is enough. Anymore, would be venting & drama. IMO |

If you were in a relationship with someone who lies about what they are doing and you know that they are lying. How would you handle that? my ex did that often & i hated it & i made it clear to her that i love her & want to spend my life with her & if it continues things will get worse & they did...i was the only honest one in the relationship....its like women don't want an honest caring loving faithful man...they prefer someone that messes about & does s h i t & thats the type of man i will never be |

Depends on a lot of things. Like length of the relationship. Whether or not they've always lied, I've always known about it, but this one particular time I have a problem with it. Depends on what I know about them. Depends on if I feel it's a symptom of something else, an indication of their personality, or simply a means to try and hurt me. But first and foremost I would talk to them about it. I mean "someone who lies about what they are doing and you know that they are lying" can cover anything between trying to throw me a birthday party to attempting to kill me. "No, I wasn't at the bar last night putting a deposit on a reservation for saturday." "No, I wasn't putting arsenic in your kool aid." Just depends on the specific situation and context of it. |

I'm bad at reading body language, so I wouldn't know it if he was lying. If someone starts bragging and being over-the-top about themselves, then I start to get suspicious, because there's no need to try and tell me how "popular" they are. People being popular doesn't exactly impress me. However, it might have impressed the cool crowd back in high school. I aim for someone a bit more humble.

then there are people who do not lie, but do not necessarily tell the truth either...

Gather evidence, confront and walk away. You can't build a relationship on lies.
I see things black and white. No grey. Honesty or history. |
