Topic: 3 in custody,after 2 Mississippi Police officers were murder | |

Anyone want to guess the outcome of the Subway "Got 'em" girl? Think she even bothered to find out one of the fallen officers was black or do blacks really not care about killing their own..... only if other races do. A while ago, we( NYC) had a police commissioner ( Benjamin Ward) who during a press conference on the increasing number of violet crimes in the city was asked " who is committing these crimes". He paused ( I'll never forget) and then said.. o.k...lets just stop the charade.. its blacks committing the majority of the violet crimes here.. and it is black on black. Benjamin Ward is black. He rose thru the ranks from a foot patrolman to lead the biggest police department in the U.S.. He was very well respected by the rank and file.. and the city .. and the citizens. Because he had a knack for telling it the way it is |

I fall to see the connection between that and a ( Deceased- 6/10/2002), Police Commissioner in New York . (Their 1st Black Police Commissioner). Who...the East Coast, loved & respected because of his bravery & sense of truth & justice. |

We are talking about New York.. * Yo! peeps* So what am I not seeing here? ( Iwas a teenager while he was Commissioner) ... Too vague & cryptic for me. I need people to get to the point quickly. * So I don't throw my phone.. my Google addiction is not that strong anymore, to check Another day, another thread. * |

South Africa after Apartheid has now one of the highest crime rates in the world, especially rape and murder. Much of it black on black but some black on whites. The lucky, who can afford to, live in gated communities. Much like here in the US.

But I still do not see the connection between African Aparteid & the deceased Commission across the Atlantic. ? Crime (& hearing about it in the media now, unlike before) is on the rise on the whole planet. IDK.? perhaps you are referring to civil unrest ? Or racial tensions escalating? Or even civil war? ... A country divided by it's own POLITICAL leaders? * or is the later, just my analysis? * |

Black crime whether black on black or other is a big part of the problem here. Police, although some bad, are not the main problem. |

Black crime whether black on black or other is a big part of the problem here. Police, although some bad, are not the main problem. Yep.. that is why people loved him. He wanted truth & justice. With that many people, condensed, on top of each other, that many races & cultures & religions (it really is a melting pot), & that large of a police force.... people needed structure & order, without personal infringement. But OUR Mind set has changed here & perhaps the world. And WE went from terrible injustices, to tolerance & exceptance... to a BLAME GAME (nobody does anything wrong & it's not their fault *Post Script Disclaimer: I am by NO means suggesting or promoting the agenda of a National Police/ O.W.O , society, bank, or religion. Anyone who knows me knows that.... but I NEED to say it. * |

Police work is a risky job world over. Bad guys hate them that much but when those bad elements are in trouble, its same police they will expect to come to their aid. Sad bad guys hate good cops but good people have a disdain for bad cops and they do exist and should be dealt with by the people whom they are PAID to protect,,,, |

So...
What exactly, is the problem with making examples of "bad guys"? |

no, and I also wouldn't want to be a doctor as
What does that have to do with the subject of this thread? There is no reason to believe that either of these officers were nothing but great public servants....and they were killed for what? Because some already convicted thug didnt wanna go BACK to prison because he had an illegal weapon? And was breaking the law AGAIN by having said weapon? And three others helped him?
I dont like blood, but expect doctors not to let patients die and I wouldn't want to be a dentist as I dont like germs, but I expect dentists not to drill a hole in someones cheek instead of their tooth point being, if you sign up for and are trained in and paid for a job , you are held to a higher standard in that job than anyone who is not These officers WERE doing the right thing and paid for it with their lives. Find another example to rant about "bad cops"....this one aint it. |

IM following the flow of the conversation
the post before mine stated in response to some cops being bad that they have a difficult job that I wouldn't want to do the original topic is the tragic death of what appears to be two 'good' cops, which I did immediately comment on being grateful the suspects were apprehended and charged the topic has also included the subject of the 'real' problem of 'black on black' crime, and some rationalizations about why cops may be killing people and why it shouldnt be something we rally about because we dont appear to rally about 'black on black 'crime one of the cool/interesting things about mingle, is the way threads can morph into many directions, but I am usually going with the 'flow' and often responding to a post immediately before my own |
