So I mentioned this before and I feel the need to rant again. It's so annoying when the only responses you seem to get on any site you try is either giving you another email to contact them at which in turn tries to get you to go to an unknown website and enter your CC for age verification. (Can't believe people actually fall for that) or they immediately send you their cell phone number to text and its either a California or New York number which reverse number look up says goes to a land line. Sometimes makes me wonder if online dating is a waste of time. At least I have fun posting on these forums :D

You know those "meet cutes" in movies that set up the magical funny/tragic story of how two people met?

Online "dating" is just two people agreeing to set up a meeting in order to set up the potential for a meet cute.

If you're expecting to date and develop a relationship online that then transfers to real life then you are going to be failing 99.999999999% of the time.

Relationships are highly personal things.
Email, messaging, texting, phone...these are about as impersonal as it gets.

"Online dating" isn't a waste of time as long as you realize it doesn't matter, and is not worth any kind of emotional reaction, until you actually meet in person.

If you are only using one dating site to try and talk to people to get them to meet then you are wasting your time if you get frustrated and don't start using another or realizing that you should leave the house and develop new interests and meet new people.

If somethings not working for you then change.
It's easier to change yourself than for you to get other people or businesses to change to cater to what you want.

Complaining and asking other people to validate your whine isn't going to assist you in finding a romantic relationship either.

I think the best thing to do, is not take it so seriously. I just take it with a pinch of salt, because you can't totally rely on dating websites. Have a few other methods in mind. We're all in the same boat on here.

Yea I have often wondered if the scammers are total idiots or just think we are. There must be some or they would go away. They do have their systems so it pays to check their names, phone numbers, and so forth before you say much they can do anything with. Best reason to date local. Even then don't be to careless.

I have seen too many long term relationships start with get acquainted emails so it does pay to chat on line even if it does seem time consuming. Not the flowery crapola the scammers lift from on line but real comments about the day to day stuff.
