Topic: handcuffed woman shot by cops | |

Those damn big bad cops should have stood there and gotten shot What kills me is some would rather complain about cops when I posted a topic about good cops and they go silent. Things that make you go hmmmm Most cops, really are genuinely good people. All it takes, is the actions of one bad apple, and the media circus that follows, to make an entire profession look bad. |

im so sick of hearing how cops have such a hard job and are such brave people. they ride around in a car for a shift, hit up dunkin donuts a few times and occasionally do some real work. being a cop is not that dangerous of a job, theres alot of jobs that are plenty more dangerous than being a cop. like i said theyre not all bad but even a small percentage is too much. the hiring standards should be alot higher and the training should be alot more than what it is. i'll admit i can be a bit harsh when it comes to police, but thats because ive been beaten by cops for no reason, been arrested for no reason, seen other people beaten by cops for no reason and seen other people get arrested just because the cops felt like it. why should i have to live with something on my criminal record just because the cop did it for the simple fact he could. and yea i could probably get it expunged or something, but why should i have to pay my hard earned money to take something off my record that shouldnt be there in the first place.
if u find im saying "bad things" about the police im only referring to the "bad officers". but ive seen how cops can be. i was handcuffed while 2 cops repeatedly punched me in the back of the head for no reason other than they could. then sprayed a crap load of pepper spray in my eyes (while im handcuffed) then literally threw me into a cell while about 5 other cops stood their laughing like it was a joke to them. thats why i have such a hate for "bad" cops. its just the badge goes to their head alot of the time and they go on some undeserved power trip. i grew up with a few people who became cops and they really cool nice people. but when on duty they act like a$$holes just because they "can" and purposely try to escalate things so they can file more charges and make themselves look more "productive". |

Not a hard job? Not dangerous? Even a routine traffic stop can be dangerous!
A police officer is "fighting for his life" after being shot in the head on Saturday evening. Brian Moore, a 25-year-old from Massapequa, New York, was fired on after pulling up alongside an unmarked car to question a suspect, according to Pix 11. The alleged shooter, who has been identified as Demetrius Blackwell, 35, is currently in custody and was arraigned on charges including attempted murder on Sunday, the Associated Press reports. Moore is in critical, but stable condition following hours of surgery for "severe injuries to his skull and brain," according to the AP. Meanwhile, his family and friends are praying for his recovery. "We just want him home and well, and my heart breaks for his sister and mother and father," neighbor Joni Olton told Pix 11. "I cried," added another neighbor Don Crummy. "My son is also a New York City cop, and I don't know what to say. I feel." Prosecutors said that they plan to present the case to a grand jury before Blackwell's next court hearing, which is slated for Friday. "This was nothing more and nothing less than a cold-blooded attempt at an assassination of New York's finest," Assistant District Attorney Peter McCormack said, the AP reports. |

Yes it happens. Heck even a crossing guard can get run over. I am curious...if you think cops are so bad and do nothing but ride in cars and eat donuts, why don't you become a cop and make a change? Even cops driving around get calls to burglaries, etc that is dangerous.
You never know who will use a weapon (including a car) or drunk or on something. Just because it's not in the top 10 doesn't mean it isn't dangerous. Fire fighters aren't listed either. Neither is the military. |

Even cops driving around get calls to burglaries, etc that is dangerous. You never know who will use a weapon (including a car) or drunk or on something. Just because it's not in the top 10 doesn't mean it isn't dangerous. Fire fighters aren't listed either. Neither is the military. Here are occupations more dangerous than being a police officer. Number of deaths per 100,000 employed: Logging workers: 127.8 Fishermen: 117.0 Aircraft pilots: 53.4 Roofers: 40.5 Garbage collectors: 36.8 Electrical power line installation/repair: 29.8 Truck drivers: 22.8 Oil and gas extraction: 21.9 Farmers and ranchers: 21.3 Construction workers: 17.4 Read more at http://thefreethoughtproject.com/cop-top-10-dangerous-jobs-country-tanks/#al7qIJhbDKS0rMwi.99 The majority of police deaths are not as a result of violence in the line of duty either, most have occurred accidentally rather than feloniously. Most police officers die, not in some heroic high speed pursuit of a child murderer, but in routine traffic accidents. So why the rush to militarization? Why are police departments nationwide receiving armored personnel carriers and 18 ton Armored Vehicles from the Iraq war, equipped with gun turrets? What is causing law enforcement to escalate to violence first and not even ask questions later? It is certainly not because they are facing more danger now than in the past. How many of us have heard the idiom, “I have to” use such aggressive force, “so I can make it home to my family”? Well what about the innocence slain that will never be with their families again? Read more at http://thefreethoughtproject.com/cop-top-10-dangerous-jobs-country-tanks/#al7qIJhbDKS0rMwi.99 When did “protecting and serving” become “making it home to my family even if it means killing an innocent child?” It seems as though police departments across the country are waging a war, in the typical U.S. Empire fashion, against the American people. Just as the U.S. military drops billion dollar bombs on shacks in the Middle East; the U.S. Police oppress Americans with their tax-payer funded brute force as well. This tendency to expand and militarize is a function of government institutions evolving into corporatism or fascism. If you’ve ever worked for the state, you know that if you do not spend your entire quarterly budget, that money will be reduced next quarter. So, why not ask for a police tank when you’ve only spent half of your stolen tax dollars? Why not exaggerate police danger to keep the public from asking questions about the acquisition of 18 ton armored vehicles? Tis the nature of the state to expand at the expense of the tax farm (you) while simultaneously corralling the herd via more strict and arbitrary laws as to increase output (higher taxes). How much larger will this oppressive and expansive police state become? complete-security That answer is entirely up to you and I. Only through a lesser ignorance and awareness will we be able to prevent this leviathan from making Orwell’s 1984, a reality. People are already beginning to realize that those who claim the responsibility of “protecting and serving” are mostly just revenue generators for the larger problem, government. Founding father Samueal Adams says it best, “It does not take a majority to prevail… but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.” So get out there and set some bush fires! Share this article with your friends and family who haven’t quite woken up to the reality of this encroaching police state. Write your own articles, get the word out however you can! The tipping point for peace is near. Read more at http://thefreethoughtproject.com/cop-top-10-dangerous-jobs-country-tanks/#al7qIJhbDKS0rMwi.99 |

A lot of places don't bust for a little bit of pot. ok so even if it was cocaine, as a human i have no right to tell another human what they can/cant/should put in their body. if a person does a few lines every now and then and gets busted with a gram of cocaine on them, do they deserve to be locked up in a cage for years of their life for a victimless crime? |
