I am honestly surprised how unprotected they seem. Maybe I am wrong, I don't know much about the Royal Family except that I have all the respect in the world for them but with the threat we are facing in this world you would think the baby would be born in a secure hospital on a heavily guarded military base.

Contrary to some of the rude detractors here, most British people love the Royal family and are protective of them. I don't believe a military presence is necessary. That would be going overboard. The Royals may be seen as a pompous economic burden by some but there is so much rich history and culture in the family, 1,000 year reign. People are fascinated. The Royals also symbolize peace, pageantry, elegance and a tie to the roots of England. Most countries killed off their kings and queens, i.e., Russia and France. England is one of the last holdouts.
William the Conqueror, who established England as we know it today, had Viking roots. No wonder Led Zeppelin sings about Vikings in the famous "Immigrant Song". :-) |

I went off them after Diana died because of the way the Queen delayed lowering the flag at Buckingham Palace but I think she learned from that. I also like the fact that both William and Harry have served in our armed forces so those two especially have my gratitude and respect. |

Guess the Queen won't be the first visitors as Kate's mom and sister Pippa got to have that honor since she {the Queen is out of town}...I was surprised/shocked that Kate would be discharged within 12 hrs of giving birth. But then I had to remember; she's not going home to scrub the floor, take care of little George, cook the meals, take care of the new little one like we all did --- SHE'S GOT HELP!
I'd want to be home too! |

I read on the .BBC.news-magazine that Catherine (Middleton) Windsor, left the hospital 'after 10 hours ' .. (Yes, looks like insanity)
And yes, she must have help (Prince George is 23 months old.) I read over & over that the Prince was under fire over the PRIVATE health care his wife would be receiving. And he stated ' I believe everyone should have a choice ' (Bravo IMO) Therefore I believe she left the hospital early in an attempt to hush the political firestorm.... Which is sad, IMO. She should of stayed, & the armed guards & police with dogs. I think leaving early after 10 hours looks suspicious & politicaly intentional. The debate over the socialize medical will never end. Sad... That a laboring woman MAY NOT have decided for HERSELF. *In the US we are booted out BEFORE 24 hrs, by our health care, not OUR choice, or the doctors* Vent over... I don't want to steal a NEW LIFE' S spotlight w/ bull**** May 2,2015 Royal Baby: Family Tree www.bbc.com/news/uk.-232 The titles & how they change & why. The " sir " names & lack of " sir' names & chosen " sir" names is fascinating, to me. And this new baby girl WILL be given 3 FIRST names at her Christening. Like her brother, Prince Geoge. And she has options of name chances if she marries in the further. But no options on her actual title. * None of the royals do* |

My one regret with this new era is "Princess Diana" isn't here to see this unfold. To me with her blood lines she had more a "blood" right to be sitting on the throne than the actual Royals that sit there today.
She is a great lady, I respect her sons, and now Kate. Long live this new era.. |
