when did the word thug become a raciest word ...meaning a black person...I have always thought a thug was someone like a bully and a large person that may kill you if in the mafias or in prisons ... a bouncer in a club... someone doing crimes... someones body guard ... but they say now ...it is use to mean... something very racial ... if blacks want to be known for that... what ever... but not the first thing that comes to mind... when saying someone is a thug ... I will take a guess if I remember a lot of blacks used it in the music and is like they adopted the word for them selves ...so many relate thugs now to blacks thug life ... which I never thought that either as a meaning just for the blacks ... they can be thugs but a lot of other races can be to ... |

A Word To 'MysticalView':
Whenever 'someone' is saying 'something', we (most of us) naturally focus upon 'that' something to such an extent, that sometimes we forget the subject/someone In order to arrive at a reasonable conclusion, it (therefore) becomes imperative to understand the level/category of 'that' someone who is saying 'that/what' thing to 'you'! In case you find 'them' categorically 'inept' (as 'human-beings'), then I would 'humbly' advise you not to waste your time, paying attention to 'whatever' 'they' are saying.. It would be a sheer display of 'prudence' to ignore their statement (regardless of what they address 'you' to be thugs or angels)! |

context. what are you saying ...what or how every context it is used in ... and can be many ... that is what Im sayng context defines the word for instance,,,, if I live in the country and call my neighbor one smart sob obviously sob is not meant to insult but, if I live in the country and call my neighbor one stupid s.o.b that is obviously an insult so, sob, is just used as an explanation point to the context of what is being said |
