no I mean really, took it away... you cant read certain books, cant see certain films, cant drink, or have guns, and if someone comes onto your property you cannot defend yourself with anything that might harm the person, you can only call the police. I mean took away freedom and speech. how would you feel about that.

wait a little while, and we'll all find out first hand. like iamwhoiam said, its already starting under the guise of political correctness. it will progressively get worse in the future.

People choose to be PC, they don't have to be, they choose to be.. for whatever reason... classic followers.

If the scenario that the OP has stated ever actually played out, there would be revolt in the streets from the vast majority of the people. The revolt would have no color, creed or nationality
barriers.

America was formed on freedom.. take that all away and I think you would see another revolutionary war. I seriously doubt that the people would " just fall in line".. seriously doubt it.

But there will always be a segment of people who fall in line.. the PC folks would be prime candidates.
do you know what I could kiss you right now. with that statement you have answered a lot.flowerforyou flowerforyou

Urmmm, he answered what he thought might happen. But what is actually happening is that people are falling in line because of political correctness. They fail to realize that their constitutional rights are slowly being eroded. They don't choose to be PC. It is thrust upon them by the media and the public. If they speak out of order, they lose jobs, reputation and their social standing. Look what happened to billionaire Donald Sterling. Please research.
hence riots and anger.
you just made my point

http://aynrandlexicon.com/lexicon/free_speech.html

It is forgotten that the right of free speech means the freedom to advocate one's views and to bear the possible consequences, including disagreement with others, opposition, unpopularity and lack of support. The political function of the right of free speech is to protect dissenters and unpopular minorities from forcible suppression, not to guarantee them the support, advantages and rewards of a popularity they have not gained.

The Bill of Rights reads: Congress shall make no law . . . abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press . . . . It does not demand that private citizens provide a microphone for the man who advocates their destruction, or a passkey for the burglar who seeks to rob them, or a knife for the murderer who wants to cut their throats.

Freedom of speech means freedom from interference, suppression or punitive action by the government, and nothing else. It does not mean the right to demand the financial support or the material means to express your views at the expense of other men who may not wish to support you. Freedom of speech includes the freedom not to agree, not to listen and not to support one's own antagonists. A right does not include the material implementation of that right by other men; it includes only the freedom to earn that implementation by one's own effort. Private citizens cannot use physical force or coercion; they cannot censor or suppress anyone's views or publications. Only the government can do so. And censorship is a concept that pertains only to governmental action.

nobody has to agree with me, but at the end of the day there should be no argument. some things are wrong and some things are right. hurting people and taking away their constitutional rights well that's bad. abiding by the law and treating people with respect that's right. America was built on that foundation.

and everyone in your country deserves to be treated like a human being.

I don't need to research how I feel. And I answered what I think would would happen

And losing your " social standing" is worth losing your dignity? or self respect? .. that's quite all right, I'll leave the wine and cheese for someone else... and keep my self respect.

People know who they really are.. after all, they look at themselves in the mirror every morning. And the mirror never lies.

In my world, the last person I want to talk to is the " yes" man.

if what the ops stated were to come to be, I feel there would be a uprising.. lead by those who do not follow

buy hey, that's JMO

accepting bad treatment is not a good thing because it can grind you down. it takes being strong to ask for better even when you get treated worse because you stood up for yourself.

Standing up for yourself is great. Rioting and looting constitutes standing up for yourself?

when people get treated bad and have certain things taken away like dignity and well lives, they react the way everyone else would if things were taken from them. hence riots and anger. we are all human and we all want our right honoured.

So which side do you accept? You say violence is wrong but then you say hence riots and anger. Are you confused?

you could ask me or try to catch me out a million times over but im standing by my convictions. I think everyone deserves to treated like a person. there is nothing wrong with that belief.

I think your a little confused actually. ive said a lot now that I don't condone violence but on the other hand I can understand why they are angry.
