Topic: Walmart: super center or detenion center ? | |
---|---|
whatever....retail centers have always come and gone based on the longer term market. Wlamart's secretiveness is reflective of their usual treatment of their work force. Why anyone is even remotely surprised would be my question. I agree w/ devildog that .com sales are bound to be a factor although I am not one to .com. I still go out and shop, personally. (side note: it's Martial Law, not Marshall....Marshall is someone's name) Yes.. my friend Marshall is not as deceptive as the powers that be. But he sure was flattered when I told him it was too late to edit. lol at first I thought it was a World War 2 reference I think it is lust & it is interfering with my thought process. I may need a new thread... |

Other than "Imminent Domain" laws where the state or federal govt can take your land or property "for the greater good" only giving you what "they" feel is fair market value (Another BAD law!) then a state of emergency must exist, martial law must be implemented, or a declaration of war must be declared. At that point govt can seize any business, transportation, media stations or whatever they wish. It has actually "been on the books" since WWII under the "War Powers Act", but with the events of 9/11 and implementation of the Patriot Act the POTUS gave himself the power to claim "War Powers" even if there is only "suspicion" they are needed. Basically, tell the public there "could be" a threat and impose away! When Oblowme reauthorized the Patriot Act on New Years day 2011 from Hawaii, he had added the "indefinite detention clause" to included US citizens (I'm sure you all remember that argument between the POTUS and Congress) and declared the "Homeland" a war zone making those powers official. It was Reps and Dems alike who betrayed us, and Sen Lindsey Graham couldn't have been happier as he took to the Senate floor for his famous tirade about the ability to take citizen rights away! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6PM4ZKoQks ^^^^Fixed that. People remember to take out the SECURE 's' in the links. Tired of getting Home Improvement or whatever blank page.... |

one weird thing about it is that there have been no plumbing permits issued for any of the cities/stores that had the "plumbing" problems... "" A Wal-Mart spokesman told Consumerist that the company had not secured permits "because we have yet to know the full extent of the work that needs to be done. We may also have to do additional upgrades that may require additional permits." Some employees believe that the stores were closed because of worker protests for higher pay. Employees of the Pico Rivera store were among the first to hold Black Friday protests in 2012. "This is the first store that went on strike," an employee told CBS Los Angeles. "This is the first store in demanding changes for Walmart."" http://www.businessinsider.com/wal-mart-suddenly-closes-stores-2015-4 this makes the most sense, i've been reading about some workers trying organize a union, and the waltons closed those stores... |

Wal-Mart to Cut 7,000 Back-Office Store Jobs -
[url [http://www.wsj.com/articles/wal-mart-to-cut-7-000-back-office-store-jobs-1472743429/ Wal-Mart Stores Inc. plans to cut thousands of back-office positions around the country, a sign that the retailer’s effort to make its cavernous stores more efficient is also changing the face of its workforce. The largest private employer in the U.S. is eliminating about 7,000 store accounting and invoicing positions over the next several months. The jobs are mostly held by long-term employees, often some of the highest paid hourly workers in stores. The retailer wants those employees working with shoppers, not in backrooms, say company executives. Centralizing or automating most of their current tasks is more efficient, they say. The jobs are coveted as a rare desk job in retail. “You are not running around the store on your feet all day” and receive decent pay, said a Wal-Mart store accounting employee who earns about $13 an hour, or $27,000 a year. “Everybody wants to get in there. The jobs never open up,” said this person, who has worked at the store for nine years.<br> * More on link* |
