We are in fall time when is the best time to plant grapes and Daphne bush?
What types of plants can I plant at this time of year in New Zealand?

Not here it's not.
Temperatures have dropped, snow is already on the mountains. You are the opposite to us.

Any bulbs/tuber type that need to winter in and will come up next spring for you! Same thing for the rest of the world but your season cycle is just on a different period. Tulips/daffodils

Grape vines are an early spring planting http://www.gardenguides.com/77160-plant-grape-vines.html

Care for Daphne Shrubs: We plant more Crape Myrtle Variety
.Daphne shrubs prefer moist soil. To keep the soil around them moist in summer (and to keep the roots cool), apply mulch. Darrell Trout says that "perhaps as much as one-fourth of the old growth should be removed every year, after the plant has matured, treating them as you would Forsythias."

I've planted these in fall months but they must be kept watered during the long winter and if you don't get a good abundant snow fall hauling water out to those bushes may be a problem...so perhaps spring may be better!

GOOD LUCK either way!

No problem...happy to be of some help; my dearly departed husband and I had a landscape/nursery business for many years! I so love working in the soil and planting things/enjoying spring and watching things bloom throughout the year!

Any time, just holler!

Where I have buried my cat I want to do a garden to remember him by because he was so loved by everyone in the neighbors.
