You’re free to believe however you wish Miguel. I certainly have no desire to change your beliefs.

However, on a personal note, I believe that Jesus was misquoted and misunderstood. Keep in mind that Jesus never wrote anything down. Everything that is in the books that is said to be the word of Jesus was actually written by other men who may very well have misunderstood what he was saying.

I believe that Jesus was indeed a pantheist and when he said that he was God he meant it in that way. The people who recorded his teachings later simply misunderstood what he was saying.

But like I say, I’m just sharing my view. I’m not trying to convince anyone how to believe. From my perspective it’s all just food for thought. flowerforyou

then again James my friend
your point is valid to the extent that fulfills your life.
my duty is just to respect your opinion because that is exactly what my Lord the Son of God tells me to do.

skidoo, not tryin to be mean, or rude or nothin, but i DO happen to know the roots of my religion, and happen to know that according to Biblical Scripture, that Christianity is the ONLY way. others such as buddha, hare krishna, and all these other so called deities, have only merely said "Follow me, I'll show you the way." Jesus said "I AM the way." He also claimed to be the ONLY God many times, one in particular that really sticks out in my mind at the moment, is in John 8:23 - And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.

Another is John 8:56-58 - Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

Thomas even called Jesus God in John 20:27-28:
Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. And Thomas answered and said unto him, My LORD and my God.

Another way to know that this is the truth, is that all these other books, and religions dont make prophecies, know why? because the day they do is they when the world will know that they are false. ppl have to wanna find out for themselves by experience in order to find the truth. God never hides Himself, or His truth from anyone. It is the people that hide themselves, or just plain flat out don't seek it out.

And Abra, the people that wrote the Bible, inspired of God to do so, did NOT misinterpret what Jesus had said. The Bible says men were inspired by God to write these things, and it also says in Psalm 119:89 - For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

the Word of God was already there before time as we know even began. It was written that the bible was going to be challenged, blasphemed, talked down, degraded, and all that. if it's not the true religion, then how was that there? how did those people that were writing it already know that it would be battled against so heavily? just something to think about.....

I see it as one great big circle jerk to gain control over people's minds. There is no free will associated with the bible. I see it as more of a threat that if you don't do as I say, you'll go to hell.

@Mr Right
You might well know the bible, but you obviously don't know anything about other religions. There are hundreds of prophecies in the Qur'an as well as in the Torah.

@TheLonelyWalker
I'm sorry, but if freedom of speech is a true American value, it's not true to say that one may be openly atheist in this country. To some extent, it's easier to be gay nowadays than agnostic or atheist. There's less than 5% atheists in USA, compared to, say 35%, in France or Germany. I'm originally from Europe where Descartes, Nietzsche or Sartres had probably more influence in our way of approaching philosophy than here, where dollar bills still display "In God we trust" and where presidential candidates have no other choice than playing with their faith in God to get elected. And the funny part is that our country, supposedly the most technologically advanced in the world, is also one of the less rational and most inclined to religion. Thus no, I don't feel it's easy to not believe in god in USA, especially on a dating site, if you see what I mean... :tongue:

a majority of prophecies contained in the Qu'ran have either never happened, are falsified, or they were already prophecied in the Bible.

I mean, predicting that the world will end in the year 2280 A.D.??? Come on. You gotta be kidding me. I do believe that Jesus and the apostles many times talked about how nobody knows when the end of the world will happen. that right there alone proves that a majority of the prophecies in the Qu'ran are either false, or already had been prophecied in the Bible........
