  Your friend may be coughing up blood because he may have a pulmonary thrombosis which is a blood clot caused by complications of pervious surgery but then again is also a sign of active TB or a hematoma (bleed) from interventional procedures where his blood pressure has reduced greatly. Anyhow, a chest CAT scan with iodine injection may identify the source of bleeding f/u with a VQ nuclear medicine scan. Anyhow, the gallbladder may be removed because it is calcified and may contain stones or perhaps it is not producing bile. Thus, a ERCP procedure is perform. Good luck!

Hey Fred. Both my brothers and my Dad had this surgery. I will probably go through it as well. They all had no problems and were out of the hospital the same day. This procedure is pretty common these days and should not be a problem for you. My prayers ared that this will clear up other issues as well. I hope you have a great day.
