Topic: Do You Know The Longest English Word?

'LONGEST' is undeniably the 'longest' English word in the English Dictionary. How can some other word be longer than 'LONGEST'?

Longer than Longest would be INFINITY!
Longest is still measurable.... infinity can't be measured.

If something is 'longer' than 'longest', then 'longest' will never have any valid meaning, in the true sense of the term. Besides, how can something be 'longer' than the thing that has been concluded to be 'longest'?think

You know Amelinng, I was pondering over the following:

(a) Better Than The Best

(b) Higher Than The Highest

(c) Larger Than The Largest

(d) Fatter Than The Fattest

(e) Farther Than The Farthest

And Trust Me: NONE OF THEM MADE ANY SENSE!

Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia. Apparently the people who name phobias hate people with phobias. This is the fear of long words.

"Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis" [Refers to a lung disease that is otherwise known as 'Silicosis']

However, I have two issues to understand:

(a) Does this word really exist in the English dictionary?
(b) If it does, then Is it the 'Longest' word?

think

You could look it up if you don't believe it. Personally, I don't care so I'm not going to look it up.

You should have posted if you actually personally cared to look it up. flowerforyou All those who aren't 'personally' interested in looking it up, needn't let me know turn by turn.

Keep Smiling.

I did look it up in Google. In fact, I found that word in Google itself. The problem is: I didn't find that word in the dictionary I have with me.bigsmile
