If you want someone to respond to your opening message you need to set yourself apart from the other men. Your message, together with your profile, is all that any potential match has to judge you on, and if you want them to contact you back, then you need to put thought into what you write. If you get your message right, then your chances of receiving a response will be much greater.

Start by reading her profile, BEFORE you look at the pictures. As you read think of questions you would ask the person about what they have written. First, try to include something in your first email to prove you read their profile.

Do NOT make your emails generic, always reference specifics about the lady in question so she knows you're not a spammer or serial e-mailer.
Don'��t use the same message over and over again. The truth is, girls are smarter than you�'re giving us credit for. And we can spot a re-usable message a mile away.
