I just don't get it, why some go on a forum to bicker and 'get their mad on'. Of course there are times when people will diagree and emotions may get intense. But to come here with intent of fighting??? I come here for fun and stress relief. If I want to fight, I'll just go and have my way with a neighbor's sheep. What is it with you Canadian men? One sh@gs the neighbour's goat, and has the poor thing end up in either his freezer or the Hoover dam (he's a bit vague on the whereabouts of the poor goat) and the other is a sheep-sh@gger? You got Welsh blood running through your veins? |

I am like a lot of you....I like to come into the forums for relaxation, stress relief, fun and to learn things. I DO agree OP that sometimes peeps get a little over-dramatic, mean/nasty and repetitive with their posts. And again, like someone else said, even the drama threads are sometimes educational and certainly entertaining.
I usually don't comment on the real nasty ones because like in my daily life, I CAN turn around and walk away. However, there ARE times when I simply have to comment because something has truly struck a nerve. |

Why do we consume our energy with petty arguments about what makes a man a 'real' man and what is a 'real' woman when we have a new war in Yemen and people dying in Nigeria for the right to vote? I am flabbergasted by the petty arguments being made in the general forums with such overtly stereotyped gender definitions. There are more important topics which could create harmony instead of divisions. What do you think? I do agree that the argumentative stuff is unpleasant, but to say there are more important things ... Don't agree with that! Finally getting a balance between the sexes is one of the major things that is going on in the world today and is of the utmost importance if we want to get anywhere as a species. This issue and its consequences are not as superficial as many may think. In western countries the imbalance doesn't generally cause women to die or to suffer greatly anymore. But western countries don't make up the world.. Maybe read up on what is going on in the world and just HOW bad it is! And if we so called first world countries can't even get it right ... What we do, usually ripples through in countries where women are still considered inferior beings. So I'd say it's kind of important we get it right. Have you ever watched "The Stoning of Soraya M"? Watch that movie (or read the book), and then see if you still feel it is of little importance! And sure we have a lot of fun here, some are here for fun only, but ... this is also a place where many men and women come together. In that sense the perfect place to maybe learn a little. And yeah, sometimes it gets heated and/or ppl are too stuck in their thinking... But still an opportunity to learn. Apart from that, the hunger etc. you mentioned is mostly all related... It's religion - and thus power - that keeps women in an inferior position and it's religion that forbids ppl to use contraceptives so they keep making babies, babies they cannot feed. Anyway, here's some info on what exactly goes on in the world: Violence against women and girls is a problem of pandemic proportions. At least one out of every three women around the world has been beaten, coerced into sex, or otherwise abused in her lifetime with the abuser usually someone known to her. Violence against women can fit into several broad categories. These include violence carried out by 'individuals' as well as 'states.' Some of the forms of violence perpetrated by individuals are rape; domestic violence; sexual harassment; coercive use of contraceptives; female infanticide; prenatal sex selection; obstetric violence and mob violence; as well as harmful customary or traditional practices such as honor killings, dowry violence, female genital mutilation, marriage by abduction and forced marriage. Some forms of violence are perpetrated or condoned by the state such as war rape; sexual violence and sexual slavery during conflict; forced sterilization; forced abortion; violence by the police and authoritative personnel; stoning and flogging. Many forms of VAW (violence against women), such as trafficking in women and forced prostitution are often perpetrated by organized criminal networks. The World Health Organization (WHO), in its research on VAW, categorized it as occurring through five stages of the life cycle: 1) pre-birth, 2) infancy, 3) girlhood, 4) adolescence and adulthood and 5) elderly |

* And do apologize to the M2 team for posting such a serious thing, I know it's beyond the scope of M2.
By no means do I want another discussion to flare up. Just too serious a thing to let slide * |

Women never admit when they're in the wrong. No matter how much you try to explain to them the errors of their ways.

What do you think? I think this topic wouldn't exist if it weren't for those "other" topics. like with most things in life you either have to deal with the bad, walk away from it, or you can attempt to make it better. on here its easier to ignore. ..simply don't open a topic. imagine a world where everything that you ate was healthy for you regardless of quantity, would you ever understand what the benefits of "healthy" eating? nope. ..because you'd have no concept of "unhealthy" eating because it wouldn't exist. my point is that the bad topics are necessary in order to appreciate the good ones |
