Hi, i always struggle when i am about to write first message... I usually start it with questions about random things, like; How are you? What are you doing?... well.. as you can guess, i dont get many messages back.. So i thought to ask you all, how should sound first message for another person thanks I guess it differs from person to person. I might suggest to actually read the profile and see what things you have in common. Or, you could actually ask what it is about where they live that they like the best. How good of a tour guide they might be. How about asking them if they could teach you one of their interests, like, " I see you golf, I really would like to learn, could you teach me?" It really is not hard. Just say HI first, introduce yourself by name and go from there. Just remember everyone you might like to get to know might not want to get to know you. Learn to live with it. It how life is. Good Luck and be patient. |

definitely read the profile first. don't ask questions that are already stated in the profile.
start off with something friendly instead of hey babe I think you're my soul mate. good luck on your search |

Isn't this common sense? Like most stated, actually take the time to read the profile and then personalize your message based on what the person mentioned in his or her profile. It's not that hard. I despise form letters and I immediately delete them, especially the ones where the person is going on and on about himself.

Nope. Not common sense AT ALL.

actually take the time to read the profile and then personalize your message based on what the person mentioned in his or her profile. ^^^ this is the key to writing successfully, then each letter you write is individualized..... Ohhhh, you could take it one step further.....structure your profile so that the girls write to you..... this is what I did.....and well it worked for me.... |

I agree with those who suggested to read a profile, make a comment on it so she can see you read it.
Of course there is no guarantee that she will answer just because she sees that you read her profile. |

And DON'T say "I'm new on this site / I'm new to this dating thing and I came across your profile blablablabla please can we be friends / mail / get to know each other"
Either I'm very popular with everyone that's new on this site or to the dating scene or they're all talking out of their re(tum Anyhow, it's soooooo boring to read that opening line again and again and again. Other than that I get a gazillion messages starting with "You got a beautiful/great/amazing smile!" I'm flattered, and maybe some are sincere, I mean, I have a nice smile But after hundreds of men telling me that, it's starting to wear thin. |

try asking 'are those things real' 'Gintariokas' appears to have been thrown into a 'mesh of confusion' regarding 'which' things being real..so much so, that the 'poor fellow' refrained from posting further messages in this forum! How I wish, that suggestion had been more 'vivid' and 'explicit' in its form & expression, while being laid out for him! |

I agree with everyone else....MAKE AN EFFORT to read their profile!!
I have become accustomed to not replying to someone if they simply ask the boring/dull and obviously-didn't-read-my-profile questions. IF you read my profile and say Hello, then say something that I can obviously see that you DID read it, then I will send a response. (even though it may be a "thank you, but no." |

I'm new. I have an amazing smile. I'm god fearing. I'll tell ya later. |

Try "Would you like a slice of this delicious stinky cheese?" on your engine block? haha, my parents eat that Limburger Cheese. OOOOOfdah! I always ran out of the house when they broke that stuff out. Sure would make for an interesting beginning conversation topic for a message starter. |

First one I'd like to get: I knew you in school and you were the nicest guy. Ever. So glad to have found you. Always had a huge crush on you. I'm recently divorced from a multi millionaire who I met during my modeling career. Yes they are real! Can't wait to see you.
