Hello I'm pretty new here. It appears that the photo options here are main, public and private? What happens to private photos and who would be allowed to see them? I've never seen an option to view private photos on anyone's profile so I'm wondering why this option exists.
Thanks!

I have private pictures. I can send the url link in emails to those I want to see.

What is the difference between a public and private photo? Public photos can be seen by anyone looking at your profile. Private photos can only be seen by you. If you send someone the URL of your private photo in a Mail or an IM message, they will be able to view it when they click on the URL

Thanks so much, that clears that up. I appreciate it. Your handle is similar to my email. I am also a yellow rose of Texas :)

Private photos are not truly private. They are just not listed on your profile, but they can be accessed by anyone who visits their URL, which is given to you when you set them to private.

The same rules still apply to the private photos as with the rest of the site. No nudes, keep it PG-13, etc.

Thanks, I figured the same rules applied, since there was no explanation of private photos. I don't have any nudes anyway

Now, the mechanics of the query:
How do I make Photos 'Private?'
When you place a picture in the 'Main Pic' slot
it will allow you to designate it as "Public"
or "Private."

You do this by left-clicking on the photo.

To give someone access to the 'Private' images,
you merely right-click on the 'Private' photo
which gives you a drop-down menu, left-click on
'Properties' and copy the URL (link) of that
photo and send it via email to anyone you wish.

It stays 'Private.'

Are you trying to upload with a mobile device?
http://m.mingle2.com/users/edit_photos
Or from a pc?
http://mingle2.com/user/edit_photos

(M2 does not support Windows-based phones.)

Also, Mark's quote on picture file size:
"When it comes to uploading images to a Mingle2 account, the actual file
size is almost unlimited. The number of pixels in the image, however,
is limited to 10 million. In other words, the product of width*length
must not exceed 10000000.

Pictures should be in .gif, .jpg, or .bmp format."
