The dress is really blue and black but it looked white and gold under the lighting/flash of the camera. I can't believe that this asinine matter made the news and that people are now buying this particular dress in droves. Nice marketing ploy. Gives me ideas.

Well, if I scroll over it really fast I can see the gold and white for just an instance but then the true colours come shining through...True blue and black...Hehehe!

The "black and blue" is an optical illusion produced by the angle of the light that one is seeing. When I tilt the screen to my laptop computer a certain way, the colors of the dress appear to me to change from white and gold to black and blue. This phenomenon is akin to the Sun appearing to be orange at sunrise and sunset. The Sun appears to be yellow whenever it is noon.
