I know there are ready-made curry sauces and curry powders and the like that are available for those like me who lack much time to do the prep work for that kind of thing. I bought a few types at Target and unsurprisingly they were not very palatable.

In a nutshell, I'm just looking for sauces I can mix with plain rice for some flavoring the way I do when I go to Indian restaurants that do the buffet thing. Can anyone recommend places I could find these types of things that require minimal prep, if any, and also what brands you might recommend? My current favorite flavors are Red Curry and Tikka Masala.

Those in restaurants are prepared diffrently...to get a good result do it old school as in use ral ingredients like tomatoes etc & spice & not the ''do it quick'' method.
I used to own a Restaurant so i know what im talking about

Well that's not really doable for me but I know there's no 'real' substitute, I just was wondering if there's anything out there that comes even close.

If you can get hold of them where you are,try Pataks sauces. They only do Indian sauces, but they seem to be as good as you can get without starting from scratch

Pataks, okay. Are they carried by certain stores or are they available most everywhere?
