As many of you know I am a huge movie junkie (close to 5,000 3D Blu-ray's, Blu-ray's and DVD'S) and have some TV shows like my Criminal Minds, Law and Order SVU, Hawaii 50 and NCIS: Los Angeles.
It may not be the best set up but it's a dream set up for me! I have almost everything I have been wanting! I got a Vizio 55 inch 1.75 inch ultra-thin, 1080P Razor LED HD, 1920 x 1080 Native Resolution, 3D, 240hz refresh rate (I just upgraded from a 47 inch 1080 HD with 120 refresh rate and 240 refresh rate is so much better and makes all the difference in the world). It has 4 HDMI inputs, a component input, Optical Audio Input, Red and White RCA inputs, two USB inputs and the standard Coax input that you screw in tight.
It is a Smart TV with Wifi (it only takes about 5 seconds or less to load a full length four hour movie or TV show completely with no hang-ups!!!!!!!!!) It also has an Ethernet Port on top of that. I am wondering if hardwiring it directly to my router will make it run even better and faster instead of running Wifi. What do you think?

It has an Ambient Light Sensor (ALS). It has Dimming, Backlight Bluetooth, Several different surround sound modes built in and they all sound amazing! The price it sell's for is $999.99 but after the Black Friday deal and getting my Employee Discount I paid about $500.00 plus tax for it! It is the most amazing TV I have ever had or seen! I love the refresh rate! It also has a ton of APP’s three buttons at the top that will take your directly to Amazon, Netflix and M-Go (I still have yet to know what M-Go is). If you flip the remote over it has a full keyboard on the back to surf the internet with! It also came with 8 pair of 3D glasses like you get when you go to the movie theater. I was told they have battery operated ones that are much better, I wonder if they will work with the TV I have or if they are for a specific TV? Does anyone here know? I also am thinking of getting one of those HD TV antennas where you can get all the local stations. A lot of them like our public access and local stations don’t come on our Direct TV, are those Antennas any good? Also do they make a HDMI switch box where I could get 6-8 inputs? If so would that make the quality go down?
I also got one of those home theater bundles, it's a Panasonic 1000 Watt 3D Bluray system. It has two tall tower front speakers, a center channel speaker, two rear speakers and a nice powerful subwoofer. It has the best sound I have ever heard in a home theater in a box.
It is also nice because you don’t have to waste an input for the 3D Blurays, Blurays, DVD’s and Audio CD\DVD’s. The downside is it only has one Optical Input and one RCA Audio Input. (It sucks because I have a ton of things I want to plug into it. Does anyone know if they make something I can plug into the optical and or the RCA’s like a electronic switch box where I can plug at least three more items into it so I can get surround sound for my other items like Fire TV, Direct TV, Wii U, PS4, VCR etc. (if do get an extender will it make the sound quality decline? It has a built in AM\FM radio with a hook up for a strong AM\FM antenna which I am going to get (any recommendations for a top quality antenna? It doesn’t have a wireless internet connection but it has a wired Ethernet port, but should I hook the surround sound up to the internet? Does it really matter?

I just ordered and got the Amazon Fire TV. I have been an Amazon Prime Member for a couple years now so I get the old $69.00 a year deal. I am a huge movie buff. I order a ton of movies from Amazon. So I plan on running the Fire TV with an HD cable into the TV for video and with the Optical output for the surround sound. I am also running all of the cabling audio and video with Monster and have a Monster Clean power surge protector that is a surge protector but also provides clean power to several of the electrical outputs you plug into it like the TV, Satellite, and Surround Sound etc.
If you do have Amazon Fire TV (I am talking about the box not the stick) with the talking remote please let me know if it is a good setup.

Also let me know if you know of any tips or tricks I can do or use to get optimal quality with my new toys? Any feedback, suggestions, things to add etc?

The Amazon Fire works amazingly. Better then I imagined. The voice recognition remote is flawless. If your an Amazon prime member you need to get this unit otherwise your not getting everything your paying for.

Also the audio is amazing. You can run it through the HDMI cord to your TV. I tried it just to see what it would sound like and it was awesome, but I am guessing that is depending on your TV and the audio quality and the built in speakers on your TV, If you have a home theater system you have the option of going straight to that through separate audio. The way I have it set up is I have the HDMI running to the TV for video and I have the Optical cable running into my home theater\surround sound. The audio quality is amazing, it is like I am sitting in a movie theater!

Lastly, the right cables make a huge difference on both audio and video! I tried the basic cheap cables, Monster brand and the high end audio cables that Best Buy says you need (they are over $100.00 for an HDMI cable). First off there is a very huge noticeable difference between the cheap HDMI, Optical, Coax, audio and the Monster brand. There is no difference between the Monster cables and the Audioquest other then the Audioquest is double and triple the cost of Monster.

Also if you have a LCD\LED TV that has a higher refresh rate then 60hz (a 120hz or 240hz) and or have a 3D TV the standard HDMI cable is not the cable you want. You need to get the cable that specifically says up to 240hz. Those cables have a speed transfer rat between 4 Gpbs and 6 Gbps and the cables that were truly designed for 120hz and 240hz run at 17.8Gbps. It's a huge difference. Your paying a lot more for the faster refresh rate on your TV, so spend the extra few dollars and get the right cord. Cheap will work, but it is not the right cable for the job and you will notice the difference and the price difference is like maybe $15.00 more then the standard cable. I know the HDMI cable I was originally was looking a was $17.99 and the right cable ended up costing me only $36 and the Audioquest was $99 I honestly tried all three cables and was amazingly surprised at the difference between the basic and the Monster and there was no difference between the Monster and Audioquest. It also made a big difference running the audio and video separately on the DMI and Optical.

Home theatre is what I consider to be my hobby, I have been into it since I got my first full stereo when I was 17.....
over the years my kit has gone through multiple reincarnations always searching for either the next, best gadget or satisfying my upgraditis urges....
Currently my set up consists of :
Panasonic 60" HD Plasma
Yamaha RXV 1800 home theatre receiver
Panasonic Blu Ray player
Beyonwiz 320gb PVR
Beyonwiz 500Gb PVR
Accusound speakers
WDTV live streaming media player
6TB of storage.....
Current spend on this setup is about $25,000AU

Every movie and TV series is on the hard drives and the entire system is networked to my home office and computer....

In regards to your post Lpdon, my advice for improving the sound, vision and quality of you system is to go with separate components....nothing else will produce the quality required for displaying HD...

Over the years I have tried and tested scores of gadgets and I have come to realise there is way to much cloak and dagger tactics in the retail aspect of sound and vision.....
I beg to differ on the subject of HDMI.....there is no difference between a $20 Hdmi cable and Monster or any other brand, I had my system professionally calibrated a couple of years ago and the technician backed this up with a series of tests....here in Oz the retailer makes very little on the units but makes a giant markup on cables and accessories...so it is their interest to push the higher priced cables.....
Optical cables are a different story go high end preferably gold plated tips.....
That is all you need.....in a high end system no other cables are necessary....
rca cables are from the dinosaur age and are a major sacrifice in your system, if possible get rid of them.
and if possible ditch your speaker wires and go high end, that will make a major difference in sound quality....

Anyway, hehe...that is all...drinker
