I'm new to online mate search and I keep getting inquiries from overseas as well. I find they want my email address or they want to Skype. I'm not sure what to make of this. I think I might go see if there might be some warm bodies in my own hometown. I'm not sure this is the place to be to meet people and have a serious relationship. Thoughts?

Thoughts heck you already deactivated WTF frustrated

Newbies should at least give it a week or two or at least time enough for one answer to there forum questions.....I don't know??

It is the risk we take to find a relationship. If you aren't willing to risk something, then you likely won't gain something

Being vulnerable is necessary to find love...to be loved...

i am also a victim , i am from Philippines and of course not really good in English, i was been scam in the other website, we started exchange emails after 1 month he was asking my full name, address, contact and he said his going to send me a gifts gadgets, 52 inch TV and a sum of 15,000 euro he fix it inside the TV, he send it via globalexpresscargo and then its amazing cos they also have website that you can track the parcel that he sent and also the tracking number all the details are there in every destination the parcel arrived, and after 3 days the parcel has already arrived in the Philippines (ninoy international airport) and the company that he used to sent the parcel emailed me and they said the parcel was hold by the Philippines custom due to the taxes that they issued the amount 35,250pesos sum of 800$, so i am about to and send the money via bank to bank transfer but my daughter said it was suspicious then she decided to search the company name in the DTI list if the company has a licensed and registered after so it is more suspicious then i decided to go in the custom here in cebu city philippines i was really shocked its because there is no parcel or packages that custom issued that date. so i decided to track it again in their website and no more result. well it's a charge of experienced. scammers now a days can do anything to fool people for the money.

I wouldn't put it past them - they are very cunning - and I can tell you there is no Chicago or Alabama in Australia.

NEVER share your personal or financial information with people you don't know.
Don't share your full name, personal phone numbers, email address, home address, place of work or any other identifying information.
Do not post personal contact information in your profile or username.
NEVER send money to people you haven't met in person.
It's better to be safe than sorry.
if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Good luck to all of you!

Another one is where they post their age in the Subject line and list a lower one in the Description.

I agree. I get so many messages everyday say they are in the military and want phones, computers, etc.. before that they tell you that they are deeply in love with you and want to marry you... then... I need hundreds of dollars for phone and computer. LOL, so glad I did a search online and found out about it. I didn't lose any money but so many others have. I like my money too well.

Same here, I've had "Girls" that wanted me to take my profile down because we were in love.. Ha ha! what a joke! Talk for a day and we're in love. Too many scammers on here!

I just received another message from a "lady" and "she" left a number to only text her. So I called cause I knew it was B.S. Anyways it was a guy that picked up the phone named Mike from New York.. This site is GARBAGE! Full of scammers! Beware! I'm trying to delete my profile now!

I thought I would respond to this thread because for as long as I've been on here I have certainly noticed lately how a lot of users on this site seem to Lie big time to others on here. What I mean by this is users whom are supposedly from a certain country like the U.S., but once they end up having conversations with you,you end up finding out that they aren't where they claim to live and I have certainly had my fair share of these ladies and at times it does make me shake my head towards this because do they honestly think that they are gonna continue their Deceitful charade.

I think you're making an issue out of an "non-issue". You've confessed to being relatively new to these sites so allow me to offer some practical advise. First of all, on your profile, prominently display that you are only interested in communicating & meeting folks in your local geographical location-foreigners need not apply;} Secondly there is a feature labeled "Mail Settings" where you are able to filter out any written communication from those individuals outside a specific geographical range.
Good luck & as to my thoughts on the topic; as I love to travel & learn about different cultures, people, & places, it is great feature to be able to do that on this site;}

Don't those scammers usually target the elderly? Those scams have been around for so long that no computer savvy person would actually fall for one of those. Once there was a man who tried to rent me an apartment before I visited it and said that he was out of the country due to some family emergency and would have to send the first month's rent to him via western union. Those types of scams, pretty much anyone can see them coming from a mile away.

there is no doubt that there are a lot of scammers on this site, but on occasion I like to lead them on.. play with them a bit.. have them believe that they hit the " mother load".. before I tell them where to stick the Western Union tracking number

Some of the responses are classic Lol

I never thought about doing that. Sounds like a good plan, go give them some serious hope. Maybe even make them think I am filthy rich and will send everything they ask for lol. Then I break it to them.
