A touque is a knit hat usually made from wool or a blend of acrylic and wool. It's to keep your noggin (head)(upper head) from freezing off the rest or your body during our miseably long cold winters. The rappers and all the "cool" kids from the US seem to be wearing them for some reason. I honestly can't see it getting that cold in LA or Miami but whatever. Here we don't have much choice but to wear something on our heads if we're to spend any amount of time outdoors in -30c or -40c weather. you wouldn't last long in those temperatures.
I don't wear pom poms. Some like it for a decoration on their touque for some odd reason. I guess it's somewhat similar to some liking the idea of stuffing their bras. It attracts attention! |

Sherrie, it's funny you mention the jester's hat. It is actually a Finnish thing. I don't have one but my brother does. I don't think it suits me.

This might sound odd, but I think I could handle living with minimal clothing.
I prefer a t shirt and jeans but if you "have to" wear less then I think I could live with that. It does actually get colder than that here but I've only been exposed to about -43c and not for very long. No nudity in those temps. We have indoor plumbing for a reason. I was online last night looking at ticket prices to various destinations. I HAVE to get my passport this week! |

He lives in Lapland, where my ancestors are from. Crazy people. I don't think the cold did them any favours! Maybe it's the lack of sunlight. |

I'm still wanting to take my canoe! The Pacific will give me plenty of time to think all by myself.

Cool...you best get a good seat in the sleigh then, Harry.
Hey is Lapland the home of lap dancing?? Is that where it originated from? |
|

It's possible. They had to find something to keep themselves warm through those long winter nights.

My mind is boggling here....if nothing errrr delicate can be exposed...like, EVER, in winter, doesn't that make it a little difficult out in the middle of nowhere?
What if you aren't working near umm indoor conveniences? |

Then you just make it quick! No reading cosmo or anything like that!
