Below is an exercise which addresses about 11 real issues facing America today and down the road. I would encourage each of you to take this test, and see which candidate has the same views you do....or at least, is the best fit for what you want in America.

Perhaps the race for President in the United States of America will someday stop being a popularity or financial contest, and people will vote the issues.

The following is an interesting exercise.... You answer
a few questions then click the 'find your candidate button' and the program selects the candidate who's position on the issues is most like your own...
You may be surprised at what you find...use the link below..

i dont believe anything that any of them are saying so why would i vote for ANY of them. Call me when theres a viable option. There platform would go something like this:
-cut taxes by 50 percent to start off, then more later,
- eliminatre the IRS and arrest them all for voilating constitutional law and fraud on the people,
- same for the federal reserve, then back on the Gold std.,
- everything that crosses our borders gets a tarrif, xtra stiff for countries like China,
- Sell air force one, too expensive.,
- Gun safety classes in every school.
- a return to constitutional Law.

I keep seeing people on this forum talk about going back to the gold standard and I can't understand why. The gold standard isn't workable anymore. There isn't enough gold in the world to support the level of economic trade that we have. You would have to artificially inflate the price of gold, which would make jewlery store owners billionaries. You also loose the flexablity that is offered by the current system. Say your market enters into a period of deflation, you can't arbitarily demand that the whole world raise the price of gold, so the business owners are hurt or lose their companies.

Brief Overview of Congressman Paul’s Record:

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.

He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.

He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.

Congressman Paul introduces numerous pieces of substantive legislation each year, probably more than any single member of Congress.

Ron Paul: Making History
Posted September 27th, 2007 by zenpiper

On May 30, 2007—not quite 4 months ago—something unheard of in U.S. politics occurred. Congressman Ron Paul, not invited to the Iowans for Tax Relief Forum in Ames, Iowa, held his own event next door. Within one week, he attracted more attendees than the Tax Relief conference and stunned the Iowans. This was the opening salvo of a campaign that would chart new territory in U.S. political campaigns.

Through word-of-mouth and internet support, Congressman Paul has gained more attention than any other candidate. As a result, he has more Meet-Up groups than any other; and is the most-searched candidate on Google. As well, Congressman Paul's message of freedom has inspired astonishing grassroots activism: supporters make their own banners, signs, T-shirts, videos and songs about Dr. Paul. When was the last time so many disparate individuals and groups came together to do something like this? Never. That is why this campaign is historic; the actions of the Ron Paul supporters are unprecedented in U.S. political history. No candidate has inspired this kind of support, ever.

Much has been made of the diversity of those who support Congressman Paul, and it is significant. The young, the old; bikers and grannies, people of different races and political backgrounds all find common ground with Dr. Paul’s message of freedom. As well, those who were formerly apathetic (if not discouraged) about America’s political future are leaping from their beds to support the Paul campaign. We are kindred spirits, bound together, as Lincoln said, “by the better angels of our nature.” We are not merely supporting Congressman Paul; we are striving to save our Republic.

Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. ~ Abraham Lincoln, Gettysburg Address.

At the moment we are in a civil war. It is a war of ideology; of the ruling elitists and the controlled media against those who seek freedom from tyranny. The destiny of our Republic is more at risk today than it was in 1863, and that is another reason why this campaign is historic. As most know, the mainstream media embraces the candidates they are told to embrace, and they shun those they have been instructed to shun. But, interestingly, this only seems to make Ron Paul's support grow, much to the frustration of the opposition. They have never encountered a Congressman like Ron Paul. That is because he is not one of them, he is one of us.

The ruling elite, and their controlled media, are formidable. They have money, power, influence and they are unscrupulous. Seemingly, they have everything they need to win, and they may prevail. But they do not have the consent of the governed; they do not have the Constitution, and they certainly do not have the hearts of the people.

That is why it is so important to keep up the battle cry of freedom by wearing Ron Paul shirts, hats, pins and so forth when out in public. Take flyers or cards along and hand them out to every supermarket cashier, every barber, every gas station attendant, every librarian, every person to whom you say good morning. I have yet to meet a person who did not respond favorably to Congressman Paul’s message of freedom. We have one chance, one year, to really help Ron Paul make history.

Huckabee has some character. Easy to give that guy respect. I'm all up for work on the budget.

The tax code remains incredible at this point so anybody who wants to work on that might be interesting, but be careful, you could ruin the economy with poorly thought tax code changes.

Ron Paul will always be a joke, you guys need to forget him. He's like a mini-Perot with a side of kook but without the savvy.

Did someone say gold standard? Gold standard? Did someone say gold standard? Come on, nobody really said that. Did they? Surely not Ron Paul supporter. (covering my eyes, I don't want to know). I can not possibly type the drawbacks of that kind of economic structure again.

I would prefer the sunshine standard. The more sunshine your country gets the more wealth you have. BUT. You can trade on it only by installing lots of solar panels and supporting electrical power conversion and storage systems.

Then everything is a technological race to perfect the next generation of crystalline structures to further enhance solar to electrical conversion efficiency. Oil use plummets, pollution dramatically falls, new industries rise, and Ron Paul wins a whole new support base because nobody is worried about war so much.

I checked out the questions page Ole Jeb.

It only reminds me why I don't bother voting.

I don't care for any of the options listed. And the yes/no questions aren't cut-and-dry anyway. So the bottom line is that I don't even care for anything that's even on the table.

I didn't see a single solitary issue that addressed any REAL frigg'in problems.

So why bother voting one of a bunch of monkeys?

It seriously doesn't make any difference to me which one if the idiots gets in.

There isn't a wise person among them.

If I were Catholic, I'd be on my knees - I have to vote for ...

aughhhh - Rudy!!!!! grumble WTF

I agree with Abra, when he said:
"I don't care for any of the options listed. And the yes/no questions aren't cut-and-dry anyway"

Also, there are several candidates that are not considered in most of the prespectives. I need more time for review!!

I've discovered that choosing, in this particular election, means determing the best course of action with regards to government fundamentals. My own personal agenda and preferrences may have to wait. We really need to sort out the control issues within this government, before we continue to make laws under it.

I have always been partial to Ron Paul with regard to these issues, as he does seem to have a similiar perspective as myself. BUT - There is just something about him that makes me uncomfortable, you know that inner feeling.

Well I continue my research, and hope I can make a better selection than Rudy.
