Thought about asking for other options Prefer the flour comes out tastier imo. As for spices depends on your taste buds which spices appeal to u. Its a quick method, tho there better methods which take more time . |

Which spices and deep fry with breading or just flour? I was planning on just sauting with lots of garlic, ginger and onion. Thought about asking for other options I dice an entire head of garlic. Then I simmer it a bit in a couple teaspoons water (I avoid all oils.) I add the peeled, de-tailed prawns, cover, and simmer (so low you see no activity) maybe 30 minutes. The infused prawns are delicious :-) We always cook our caught crab at the beach, in Bay water, take butter, boil 15 minutes over the fire. |

Mmmm.... Interesting for prawn For crab, I had mine pre boiled already. Was gonna have black beans and red chili with it. There's no other way I know how... Crab has a slightly sweet taste so I think you could serve it with anything that does not compete sweet-wise...the beans sound excellent. We crab a block away so it would be sacrilegious to do anything save boil it fresh. Crab can release toxins (deadly) if not boiled fresh. |

Crab
Ginger (chopped/bashed with cleaver) Spring Onions (scallions) cut into eg 1 inch pieces Egg (beaten) Seasoning (salt) to taste Prepare crab, ie 2 shell halves, and body into 4 quarters with legs etc. Bash the ginger or cut into small slices. Oil in pan Fry Ginger, spring onions Throw in crab pieces and fry Dash of water/stock, simmer for couple of minutes Add beaten egg and stir until egg cooks. The beaten egg should "congeal" and "solidify" all those lovely juices from the crab Serve with rice. Easy peasy and totally delicious ... |

When preparing the crab, don't forget to remove those nasty bits ... the dead man's fingers ... the grey gill bits ...
