That being said...I would never date someone who was mean or abusive to any animal...that indicates so much more.

Disclaimer: I love animals...but

SOME dog owners are quite obsessive when it comes to their dogs. I have experienced some people's over the top enthusiasm for their particular dog/s and I must say it can be off putting. Nauseating even. From...continuous look at my pictures to..constant conversation referrals to...you wanna hold my little coochy swoochy little love ball...isn't he the cutest!!???...My dog is the best runner/catcher/agility/walker/trickster ever...Aww look he likes you, he peed on your purse!...He doesn't mean it when he bites...He always shows his teeth when he's happy! Don't worry about the drool it washes right out!!...They can't meet you for lunch without them, they dress them up, organize events for them (and expect you to attend) and are offended when you don't share this enthusiasm. I'm not talking about potential lovers just friends...I can't imagine being in a relationship with someone whe acts this way...

A commitment to dog ownership should be a given or else why have them. They are great companions and it is nice to have a furry being greet you at the door at the end of the day. I respect that. But please lets have a healthy relationship with our pets that doesn't preclude all else...

Yeah totally agree with this.

On the some dog owners I had to laugh.. Not that it is not true for it is..

Myself since my dog is a inside dog. I do have to think about where I go and how long I will be gone. Due to she will need to go outside.. If I plan on being gone longer then over night then I normally get my daughter to watch her at her house.. There is always ways to make things work..If they are worth making it work. Heck I work and she is alone for at least 9-11 hours alone..

But what I understand the OP does not like inside dogs now if she has a outside dog it would not be a issue... Very simple solution never date a woman that has a inside dog...But.....make sure she does not have kids that live at home either for ya know most women treat their four legged friends as good as they treat their kids... So best to stay away from women with kids and dogs... bigsmile

Takes all kinds to make a world...If you don't like people with pets, date people w/o pets...If, by some fluke, you become attracted to "loving" pet owner, suck it up and learn to deal or chalk it up to bad luck and move on...I'm sure the pet owner will appreciate your honesty....

Eh, men with cats are the real stinker. Dogs are the best thing ever.

I hope you don't think women with cats are stinkers too....LOL!flowerforyou laugh
I have 2 dogs, 2 cats (strays) and a bird....I love my dogs, but I especially love cats! They are more independent and I don't have to run home just to walk the 'cat'...LOL! But my dogs are a different story, cos' they need their daily walks.

Lol no just the guys and cats. Never understood that pairing.

Perhaps the OP, or someone who feels the same, can explain their thoughts on this. I totally get not being a pet person, but why expect those who own pets to change their way of doing things for you?

And would you actually ask someone to get rid of a pet for you?

Perfectly rational!!

It's none less than expecting a happily married person to keep their spouse away for dealing with us.

Frankly, I don't see logic in starting this thread in the first place.

Why would a man need to start a thread to tell the entire world that he won't date a woman who has dogs?

I think he was trying to understand why this woman was treating the dog better than him. It is just a topic of discussion. Its no worse than the nice guy threads. If people don't like this thread; then just ignore the thread. I have seen several threads that I don't like and bypass them.

I agree.
And if so...I understand his wanting to know.

Not the whole world just the Mingle world...

I didn't think logic was a prerequisite for starting threads...

I don't think this threads reasonability is questionable....if I do,i would better keep myself away from the thread.

Why should one have any objection in someone's casual & general expressions??
