Christmas means nothing to me. It just brings back awful memories and is always a very depressing time of year. I also hear the most horrible thing from a woman on the news. She said," if you love your family; you will give them Christmas presents". That seriously made me want to throw up as that gifts are all anyone cares about anymore. Very sad. did they say that you had to buy them cause I have an aunt that every year gives out home made gifts and some of the stuff she does is amazing Actually; yes she did say you had to buy them. I never got why you had to exchange gifts anyways. Why can't you just spend time with family and not exchange gifts. What does gifts have to do with Christmas anyways? |

Christmas, how can anyone resist?...Not just for children, it's Bing Crosby crooning "White Christmas", decorating the tree, squinting to read grandmother's spice stained recipe as you're mixing up a batch of her "signature" cookies, feasting on honey glazed ham, sweet potato pie and green bean casserole...It's staying up late to assemble tricycles, wagons and dollhouses, scented candles and carols, laughter and tears, sending and receiving cards...Christmas is taking pictures and more pictures..Lights!!...Midnight service...The choir singing...Giving and receiving...Christmas is Love.... |

Thanks but really not doing anything but cleaning house. I am a shift worker so Christmas means nothing to a shift worker as we work our shifts regardless. |

I Gguess Christmas is not such a big deal in some parts of the usa. Imagine being cooped up indoors all day with a big turkey in sunny Califonia hahaha! No thanks!

Christmas has different meanings at different times of my life. Some have been very bad others very good but most somewhere in the middle.
This year it's just being enormously grateful to be well enough to home sleeping in my own bed with out acute pain and knowing the majority of my friends and family are able to do the same. I tend to agree that Christmas /Holiday season does seem to be plagued by too much pressure to do stereotypical traditions that do not fit for everyone. I do hope that everyone does find a tradition that is comfortable for them and those that care about them do share the kindness, friendship, and love that I hope will come to be the way we all celebrate. Not focusing on gifts or unaffordable things, or bragging to others as if the holidays are a competition. Often the kind words, random acts of generosity, and focusing on what we are blessed with will create that Peace and holiday pleasure. I extend a special Thank You to all those who do shift work, military service, or get out and do the work necessary to allow us to enjoy our traditions. |

It's my true to life moms birthday..lol...she was born in 1929...she died at 53...'...I was seventeen at the time but was glad she died old...?..LMAO!!!!!....I don't know how to post a song,...look up "Sweet Adalines"..Missoula Mt..Christmas 2013 southgate mall...these ladies sing a song my mom wrote that totally says what Christmas is...I love my mom!!!.. And I love my brother from another mother who is said to be born tomorrow...lol..many Christmas hugs and Happy New Years to everybody out there...WooHoo.:)
