Topic: When you buy albums... | |

Do you buy albums from the same band in the order they were released, or do you not care which one you buy?

Yeah, I usually just buy whichever album is appealing and cheap. :P However, I have made an exception when it comes to RUSH.

Don't care about the order. I want what I want when I want it. Also, depends on the band as to what I'm buyin' and when. Some bands I like one or two tracks, so it's iTunes. Some bands I like everything they ever did, so they are on CD (sometimes special edition CD's) and then the whole CD is ripped to my 3TB SAN, then available though any device on my network. I then carefully store the original CD, for my archive. All the DL'd material is regularly backed up to DVD-R.
I even have my own little "movies on demand" area. lol Edit: Perhaps, I should not mention that I not only have Rush's entire catalog on CD, but also on original vinyl. Including a Hemispheres picture disc, and a CAV of "All The World's A Stage"... I so miss the Capital Records swapmeet. |

I only buy CD's though I still call them albums being of a certain age! I buy whatever I think I will like though some bands I buy religiously such as Mastodon, Korn, Slayer, I used to buy everything Queen did on vynyl in the 70's and 80's. Some bands I just take a chance with and get to like them e.g Obituary, Diablo Swing orchestra, Satirycon and Motionless in White. I also buy Cds, that i used to have on vynyl if they are a fiver or less!I also have the best of Rush and a farewell to Kings on CD Stan!

It depends mostly on what ive heard from the artist at the time to me i can skip an album or 2 if it wasn't what i was looking for from them. But id probably make exceptions for nas and scarface

Do you buy albums from the same band in the order they were released, or do you not care which one you buy? Personally, I can't become obsessed by a band, therefore they must have a few tracks on their new releases that I like, for me to buy the CD, I do have a huge collection already & storage of the CDs has become an issue, while the process of archiving them on external drive is slow....but still have lots of ground to cover in the direction...:) |
