Topic: Fix it or listen? | |

in relationships its hard to know which is called for... sometimes people are just venting and sometimes they want feedback,,how do you determine which situation it is? I'm more of a to the point person who listens unless I'm asked a question or asked for help,,,,but there are those who expect the need to be implied without asking you,,, |

I am more of a listener. I have a friend who talks to me about divorcing her husband. I have learned that sometimes she just gets so angry about his drinking that she gets fed up. I never say anything when she starts talking about this because I know she loves him and won't leave him. I just let her vent.

However, if they say they're just venting and don't want help, don't get offended when they don't take your advice. |

oh my god I'm a girl... I can totally sympathize with a headache... I get them every now and then.... usually at the base of the back of my neck... like somebody sticking a hot poker through my head... but i was at the mall the other day, and came across this horrible store.... they sell this peppermint....ohhh... look at me carrying on like a little girl again...lol YOU will get invited to sleepovers, for sure :-) |

Talking more than they probably should: venting, hurt, upset.
Asking loads of questions: advice/feedback. |

how do you determine which situation it is?
Serious talk calls for some alcohol / trees. Like the film 'Matrix' : I offer the blue / red pill & let em' choose. |

No one will ever actually fix it, without actually caring intensely about what they don't like.
