Just read this book over the weekend by Dave Pelzer...had me in tears several times. Some people should NEVER have the privilege of having children. As a child, this guy had to have had one strong soul to survive what he lived through. Can't wait to read his follow-ups, "The Lost Boy" & "A Man Named Dave".

You know having a special needs child its amazing seeing how so many of these angels overcome so many obstacles in life. Mine is simply my little miracle in the making. flowerforyou

A Boy Called It...truley amazing book...the follow up books are also great. I think every child abuser so be forced to read all three books as part of their punishment. Another book to read is When Rabbit Howls...it'a about a womans struggle with the abuse she endures as a child.

Thank you Barbie! You know my co-workers and I never hear that often enough. Usually I hear..."I could never do THAT!" OR "It takes a special person to do what you do." A heart is all it takes...these 'special kids' need as much, if not more, love than the next kid. Most of the children I work with are 'throw aways'...can't or won't be cared for by their biological families any longer. They may not be able to have tea parties or be on the little league team, but they sure find a way of entangling themselves into ones heart strings.

*GYPSY* Hey girlie:smile:
The book you're talking about is "I know my first name is steven". Also a very sad, but good book. He was kidnapped as a child. He didn't and won't be writing anymore books. Sadly enough

Hi allflowerforyou
Pelzer is a fantastic writer, what a man.
But I am going to buy "When rabbit howls" on my way to work and probably not get any sleep tonite cuz it's usually very difficult to put the books down.

Thank you JAKDRAGON
