.. you know this thing .. women and their memories? Like you guys tell us something and 3 months later, 9 months later, we STILL remember and remind you of what you had said way back when?
Innit annoying? Lol.

I realized I did exactly this earlier on today blushing I didn't WANT to do it, it just happened, I mean, it's what women do, innit and I'm a woman, can't help it (lame excuse! I know) At least I have the decency to realize I did it.

What can we do about it? Bleeped if I know .. I just have a real good memory. Our first phone nr ever, when I was 5, was 3690. Why do I remember? God knows! I just don't know where the erase button is for pointless information ohwell

So just saying ... if you contact me in a day, a month, a year, heck 20 years even, I will STILL remember, and I may STILL 'use' it against you.

No one prolly has a clue what I'm talking about, including the one I am talking to, lol, cos he's a bloke and blokes don't remember anything. At least that's what I've been told.
But just in case you DO remember ...
sorry shades

Now I gotta work out how you 'forget' these things.

Anyone have annoying stories concerning women's memories, knock yourself out

.. Just remember, I won't forget anything you say here, ever

I will still tell the story of my older brother getting drunk on his 18th birthday and peeing in my hamster cage in my bed room, after he kicked me out of my bedroom, of course.

Ohhh.. women are like elephants in that factor... perfect example.. when my now ex spouse.. and I first met.. I think it was two years into it... we are going to the hardware store one day.. in the summer.... we came up on this truck..... and this little dog that was tied to it.... unbeknownst to us... jumped out and started barking... well I was attacked by dogs when I was very young..... and this dog did startled me.... well I grab my wife.. then girlfriend..... and I hate to admit this..... yes I used her as a human shield. ...... she has never let me forget that.... every cocktail party..
... that someone brings up something similar..... she jumps.. in with her version of the story.... and believe me her version, does not paint me in a good light....lol... I always forget it even happened..... but not her..ohhhh.nooo.... it always makes me feel like a bit of a douche bag when she tells it..... but honestly the dog.just startled me.... she makes it sound like a pack of wolves were hunting us down..... and I somehow tripped her.... to slow them down....lmao.... yes you women never forget...slaphead

Yup, yup...I DO have a very good memory; always have. It's served me well in school, in my career, in my life, AND while dating/relating with men.

It's simply one OTHER arena that I won't 'dumb-it-down' just so others can feel better.

But, I've always figured the fact that I'm a woman is completely coincidental and incidental to it all.

Don't think it's about dumbing it down, but more dealing with it differently. I think it's part of the typical female to remember and notice a lot of things, cos in a time long gone, we needed this skill to survive and be safe.

But how to deal with it in 2014? Making lists of what a man has said or done, usually does not really help a relationship .. And I know it aren't really lists, it's just there, like a huge library we can scroll through to find that one little piece of information, within a split second. Then recall everything from that one moment, the exact words, what he was wearing, the look in his eyes, intonation etc.
Kinda weird ..

I haven't seen any studies indicating that women in general actually have better information retention rates than men. Several studies suggest that women are often better at multitasking, so that may be part of it, to generalize - perhaps men do not assign as much attention to events or moments of the periphery of their human experience.

I don't believe that, but whatev.

Since my memory is awful and my girlfriend has a pretty damn great memory, like in every other instance in my life I simply rely on quick-wit and charm.

Smile for the camera... No, but really, she also takes a lot of photos.

Oh, I don't make "lists of what a man has said or done"; I remember what a person has said or done,

remember?

Nahhhh...if people don't want others to remember what they've said or done, what should be done differently is not saying or doing those things they don't want to be *held accountable* for, later.

Like I said, since being able to remember things (not refer to lists) has served me well in ALL aspects of my life, I'M not too keen to do anything differently and changing it.

Isn't it horrible if you think about it?
How do you delete an entire library of useless information? I mean, there's stuff in there from ex partners, fat lot of good that is going to do me? It's not like I can still hold that against them in a court of Love, lol.
So why is it still there??
And kind of amazing we can keep these recollections in different sections. I mean, I've never come up with something that man X once said when I was arguing with man Z.
So apparently it's all neatly filed and tucked away under "Man X's promises, statements and nasty chit" and another file for Man Z, G etc. etc.
Dang us girls are organized or wot?!

men do this too. they just have selective memory at the time of telling it.
my brother loves to tell people about the reason I got my nickname, Anamal, because I fight back like a rabid animal.
he will tell you we were kids and I was mad and it took him and our male cousin to try to hold me down so I would cool off and not go after him.
what he forgets to mention is he was horsing around and accidentally hurt me and that's why I went after him.
lucky for him he could outrun me because I still managed to get loose from him and my cousin.
anyhow, guys have far reaching memories too
