What have you bought online? Why did you choose to buy online? Have you used eBay, Craig's List, or Amazon? Out of those three, which do you prefer?

I'm thinking about starting a new business and would like feedback to help me decide what to sell.

I already have a business providing online services, but would like to start selling tangible items and eventually open a b&m store.

Yes b&m is brick and mortar. I don't think cars are shippable items for me. lol

Ebay, Amazon, no preference, the items I purchase on 'em are totally different: Ebay for crystals, I use Amazon more often, these days mostly Ebooks as I'm not impressed with their shipment cost anymore. I compare with Dutch sites, if that is cheaper, I go for that.

If you wanna start an online shop, think about those shipment costs .. Very difficult to compete with larger stores like Amazon. Been there .. and ppl will go for the cheaper shop for the same or similar items.
I was lucky I was selling rather unique stuff that ppl couldn't really get elsewhere in Holland. I imported directly from the States, UK, Australia, so I skipped the Dutch wholesalers, in order to have a rather unique range. But still you get ppl whinging about the costs ...

I also check how fast a shop can or will send the item. If I want something, I'm not going to wait days because a shop hasn't got it in stock. So sometimes I order from the UK, because it's faster than when I'd order from a Dutch shop. So you need stock ..

I basically buy everything online, earlier this year my new washing machine, books, Ebooks, my oven, my smartphone, vacuum cleaner, clothes, lingerie, sometimes crystals etc. etc. But never shoes ..

Thanks for the input. I want to stay away from digital products, as I already have assets in that market.

As far as shipping costs, I have that figured out, I just have to figure out what to ship. lol

I shop online a lot. I'm older and getting so I hate the crowds, also saves on gas. I've shopped on Amazon, Ebay(a lot), dept stores. I try to shop the sales as they will offer free shipping sometimes. Good luck..

I decided to open a health shop and connect it with my online addiction support group. I'll have them working together, providing support, products, and resources for healthy and addiction free living.

When I decide to go B&M, my shop will have an addiction support center where 12-step meetings will be held. That's a plan for the far future though.
