When I was on my high school days I only said yes to a date if he'll allow me to bring a friend.. for a reason that if ever my father will catch me dating I can pass the guy to my friend.. he's very protective

Some do it so the friend can see you and see what she thinks of it, or it could be as an excuse to bail out incase the date isn't going well for her, or it could be for safety reasons. It could be a number of other things, u never know what exactly goes on in a womans mind

No idea. I think it's not very respectful either. Personally wouldn't even want it. Safety reasons is a lame excuse, I don't think so, I mean, they suddenly appear when you're already there.
I don't tell my friends when and where I'm going on a date, cos I do think a couple would mysteriously turn up out of curiosity. I'd find it embarrassing, because, logically, the guy would think I asked them to do so. He'd prolly not believe me if I told him I didn't, plus you'd still have to be polite to your friends, while you actually really want them to PO. So what I'm thinking is that the girl maybe told her friends and they just thought it to be funny to turn up, and/or couldn't control their curiosity. Girls are very curious about each other's dates and love interests. |

I've never done that... but like someone else said, it could be any number of reasons. I don't think I even know anyone who has done this.

maybe a buddy system ...if you are meeting them somewhere and its your first date ...or first date and just going out some that they do not know want to feel safe so they ask their friends or friends to go ...
not sure ... but understandable if they are young ... |

We bring our girlfriends on a date...in case we have to use the restroom. So, you bring a friend along to keep your date occupied, while you're taking a wizz? |
