I was at a friends house for the night, she had invited me over to stay with her because her boyfriend was out of town. At around 2 am (i had long since been asleep on the couch) the bathroom lights turned on and the shower started. Assuming it was my friend i tried to roll over and go back to sleep. She came out of her bedroom to check on me. We walked into the bathroom together to find no-one there. I turned off the shower and the light and returned to the couch.

After about half an hour of tossing and turning the same thing happened again, and again we found nothing in the bathroom. Of course this time we both left the apartment immediately. She moved out 2 weeks later.

Has anyone experienced anything like this before?

It just proves, even ghosts like to stay clean

you reach a conclusion without and evidence DUH

unexplained stuff yes many times

a clean ghost nope

i would check in to the history of hte place
do an online search is one of the easiest ways

Yeah, freaky things.
In the house I used to live in, we occasionally had the stereo turn itself up to its max volume.
And in this house had a thing with my bedroom light twice. But that wasn't a nasty spirit, the things that we had happen to us in the other place, were nasty. All kids used to see and hear things upstairs, the dogs did too, both upstairs and downstairs. Sometimes one of the dogs stood stock-still, staring at something/someone right behind me. Totally freaked me out.
Glad I don't live there anymore ... And very glad my current house is okay, clean and peaceful.

I believe you. I once lived in a duplex and I often heard people walking upstairs in the room above me but no one ever lived there.

my brother's God parents lived down the street. they were like our second set of parents. we would spend as much time there as our own home.
his God father had a strict set of rules which everyone had to follow. his Godmother was more laid back.
after the death of his Godfather things started happening. since the rule of the house had been lights off and tv off at ten, the kitchen lights and 2 of the house tv's would turn off at ten.
that was disconcerting but we sort of got used to it. and it wasn't too bad when there were lots of us there.

I stayed in the Cresent Hotel (America's most haunted) in the room where a guy died. I was there on Halloween night.

Hello Leigh yes I have experienced many things from lights flashing so much on and off in my house my friends across the road thought I was having a disco but no it's not nice but I've learned to accept some of the strange things that happen. Next time u hear or have strange things happen and it it bothers u tell it. My best friend he has see the spirits. One night when we both was at the hospital when my mum was in there he decided to play detective on a disused ward that we was told was haunted. I said to him no way I'm going in there so I waited at the end of the doorway. He entered waiting I just kept thinking hurry john I don't want us to get in trouble. Next thing I knew I saw him running towards me so fast it was just like a scene from movie I laughed as never seen him run then quick before as ghosts and stuff do not scare him but he said to me run so we did all the way down the flights of stairs. He told me a huge presence was in there from what we found out it was a build up of souls that was not free from the building sounds as if i am mad I know but when u see stuff like I do and my friend we know we either both crazy or it's real. So try not to be nervous next time easy for me to say.

Yes....this kind of things happens, all the time!

I can sense them....but luckily, not see them, otherwise I would be freaked out! But my children sees them all the time when they are young, but outgrew their 'third' sight by age 5 or above! One time, my son then 3 told me there was a lady beckoning for him at the window UPSTAIRS to go out....! We were walking on the street and my daughter, then 4, told us there is a ghost down the street....we saw nothing!!!

Two of my friends woke up in the middle of the night to find a lady in white standing next to the bed. They were violently sick from fright for days on end after that.

And another friend of mine sees them all the time, but has learnt to 'ignore' it, otherwise, it is not he who freaks out, but the people beside him who will. He could be at the window looking out, and a face or two would be looking in!
