From Real Clear Politics: Portman Backs Obama's ISIL Plan
"I support what he laid out," said Portman at a breakfast sponsored by the Christian Science Monitor. "I think Congress ought to respond appropriately and provide him the funding he has asked for."
From the Washington Post: House leaders back Obama plan to arm rebels against Islamic State Congress is "at the beginning stages of building the kind of support that is needed across the nation to carry out this plan," House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) told reporters Thursday. He said that many Republicans are skeptical of the policy laid out by Obama.
"If our goal is to eliminate ISIL, there is a lot of doubt of whether the plan that was outlined last night will accomplish that," he said, but added later: "It's important to give the president what he has asked for." |

Hmmm...wonder if this will be 'trend-setting' or 'career-killing'.
Reads like another volley's been lobbed...and yet another opportunity for leadership skills to be displayed. Not a moment too soon, either, what with midterms just 6 weeks away. Fiscally-responsible, too, exercising that free advertising, without touching the party's campaign funds. |

Congress supporting the golfer-in-chief? Is it any wonder they have an 8% approval rating with the American public? I find it a little hard to support a POTUS without a lick of military experience, who doesn't listen to his generals, and fires the ones who disagree with him, then goes on national TV and brags to the American people that he's "really good at killing people...." |

Dodo, probably happens more often than believed
that is people registered under one party still being able to 'agree' with people registered under another not quite sure how we mete out the difference between agreeing with something and supporting someone though though , direct personal attacks are a different matter altogether that's more of that political engine Im not quite expert in yet,,, |

The problem with Obama's plan is that few believe he has the ability to carry it out. What coalition? Where are the ground troops coming from?
