Was this post about anything? I don't usually do utube.

I'm really up for some new idealism about now.

Lets try being idealists about renewable energy. Did you know you can create a u-tube filled with lead-antimony and inject steam into one side and the lead will flow (must be heated to melting first) then placing large magnets around the tube and electrodes on opposite sides of the magnetic field, extract electricity from the device? It is actually quite efficient. Any takers?

Nice hat.

Philosopher:

Interesting idea but how efficient is it. Lead melts at 621 degrees F. So your steam must be super heated or it will cool the lead and solidify it. To heat steam that hot takes lots of energy. This sounds like it may take more energy than it produces. Alloying lead with Antimony will increase the melt point of the mix according to the amount of antimony added. Antimony melts at around 1100 degrees F.

Interesting video! It's pretty sensationalist and borderline propaganda and I fast forwarded through a lot of it. The only thing I thought was cool was that the location of the peace sign was in Prague! I  Prague!drinker

Im not going to watch the video ...

It will spoil my image of all of us sitting in a circle around a camp fire, holding hands, cooking steak and chops, whilst the surrounding lions are asking for cauliflower cheese!!!

I liked most of the video DaVinci... I thought the beginning was the best part, the end became a bit drawn out.

But it's basically just imagery that illustrate concerns over the way that people in this country seem to have just handed over their civil liberties, their basic freedoms, the very things that made this country unique and great in the first place... these things have been attenuated, corrupted or just taken away altogether by the "patriot act" and many other lesser empowerments to the centralized goverment and therefore loss of freedom and privacy to citizens.

And most of the citizens of this country seem to just accept these losses....

Try Lead Bismuth (370 f)or tin-lead. Those alloys melt somewhat lower. Anyway somewhere in the 300s. If you inject water into it, it becomes steam, lightens the one sides lightly and things flow.

Anyway I'm off topic because I don't like to go to links. The point of being so far off topic was to encourage people to give a little more info about their links. If I have a little more info I might go look at a link if it is interesting to me and a link site that I am comfortable with.

Phil-

I understand what you are saying and I usually won't bother going to the link if I don't know the poster but DaVinci posts enough, and I like his posts enough, that I thought it worth my time to go to the link blind....

Perhaps he wanted to see who would take a leap and just view it? My own post would have given you a pretty good clue unless you just skipped it...
