I have no problem with Rev. Sharpton being involved in the Ferguson controversy. I just don't see how he has improved anything by being involved.

I don't see how we are 'improving' anything discussing things on the internet. But the point is, it is at least conversation and communication and I don't see how that 'hurts'. That coupled with someone being asked to show up and show support, makes the 'good' a pretty immeasurable consideration.

People/businesses are being "hurt" by rioting and looting. Sharpton doesn't even realize that when he opens his mouth, he incites this. He needs to stop.

with all respect, how do we know Sharpton 'incites' the behavior,, especially considering it was already HAPPENING before he was even asked to come and that since he has come he has asked that people handle things without the looting or rioting,, in fact, by metaphorically congregating with 'arms raised' in surrender like the teen is reported to have done before being shot.

Rev. Sharpton has done no harm by being in Ferguson. However, he was not needed there.

Gee, would anyone here convict a person before that person has actually been charged and put on trial?

Well for once I have to agree with Mr. Sharpton (well at least with the snip it posted in the OP). How will we as a nation handle the rampant increase of military style policing, will we care long enough to put down our phones and ask Why? Why is deadly force being used so freely, why are the elderly and the young being gunned down by "Peace" officers, why when a person is on the ground do the "authorities" feel the need to continue to beat on them. When was the last time you saw the cops run over a mine or get ambushed? Yet they need MRAPs? Why? Why should I as a law abiding citizen feel afraid of the police?

United we stand divided we fall. Stop playing to the beat of the media, look beyond skin color, and focus on the real issue. It was never intended for the citizens of this nation to be policed by the military, yet that is what it looks like more and more each day.

But hey it's all the fault of those darn blacks, or whites, or whatever other easy scapegoat you can come up with.

the media ,,, wasn't the victim 'convicted' in the public eye? of deserving the death penalty? of being a fatal threat?

I agree. If its not right, its not right. The black community has long been USED to the treatment and finally fed up, even though not only blacks are victims. But whomever is the first to organize and speak up about unarmed shootings is not wrong to do so.

I have three brothers, guess how many of them have NOT at some point been harassed by police even though they broke no law? NOT ONE.

I bet if you got any ten random black men together, barely three or four would have NOT at some point been treated as criminals by police. Its got to stop.

WE have to organize as citizens, communities, to do things that will speak to the authorities and send the message that it is NOT OK.

Rioting and looting are not the way. Protests and boycotting work much better. Money really does talk. Hit the pockets and they start listening. Also, one thing about media is that it has a international affect now. Other countries and nations are watching. That international coverage had a lot to do with ending jim crow when the world saw dogs being unleashed on women and children. We need to utilize the media and our pocketbooks.

KEEP RECORDING THESE INCIDENTS, KEEP USING GLOBAL MEDIA TO GET THEM OUT TO THE WORLD and SUE< SUE < SUE

shame or bankrupt them into listening and making changes
