Topic: 10 commandments- utdated? | |

The ten commandments is usually the name given to those commandments as described to Moses for the Israelites whom he had delivered from slavery out of Egypt found in Exodus,,, As specified in Exodus 32 and nowhere else. Now remember, I am not trying to an azz (cuz it comes naturally) but if we are allowed to say it says what I want it to say, then you have a bunch of not very nice people saying it says this and that and I am going to act upon it; for example the curse of Ham ( which if you actually read the story is not Ham) being used to support slavery. So I do ask that people actually read it (Noah took 7 of each animal on the Ark {except the unclean ones]- which is why there is only one of me, etc.) and read it in context. |

I must admit, I have a new neighbor and I have been coveting my neighbor's azz Err, why yes, of course that is what I mean-yeah that's the ticket! Blessed are the cheesemakers |

it is actually referred to throughout the bible, when people are reprimanded for not following the law
it only needs to be written as law ONCE,,, the constitution is not 'specified' except in the constitution but it is referred to throughout judicial history,,, |

People confuse the different types of laws in the Torah. Mainly, the Temple ritual laws seem to have taken over much greater import in people's minds today. I always ask- have you been to the Temple lately, no? then don't worry about |

So I do ask that people actually read it (Noah took 7 of each animal on the Ark {except the unclean ones]- which is why there is only one of me, etc.) and read it in context. 7 clean animals and 2 of the unclean annals were taken into the Ark if I read the text correctly. As for the original Ten Commandments Christians were told in the New Testament that they were to love God with all their heart and mind and to love our neighbor as ourselves and this would be summing up the entire original Ten Commandments. As I understand the curse of Ham it was one of his sons who bore the curse and his name was Canaan who was the father of the tribe which was the Israelites most fierce enemy. JMHO |

I remember working with a man who had mutilated his penis. Why? he was taught it was a sin to touch it, so when he would have to pee, he would pull it out with a pencil, fork, etc. just in order not to touch it

easier question, which of mans 'laws' are offensive Id gander those which make people feel less 'free' to do what they want,,,but that would be a LONG Thread..lol can you imagine if mans laws could be condensed into just ten? don't steal don't kill(illegally, wars and 'self defense' are another question) ,, I think most people believe we would be fine with just those two,,lol Actually that one originally read,Thou Shalt Not Murder! |

Those who changed the Rule did so with clear knowledge what they were doing, but creating docile Sheeple makes them much easier to rule, thus the change in that Commandment! |

SKY PILOT LYRICS - THE ANIMALSReview The Song (5) Send "Sky Pilot" Ringtone to your Mobile He blesses the boys as they stand in line The smell of gun grease and the bayonets they shine He's there to help them all that he can To make them feel wanted he's a good holy man Sky pilot, sky pilot How high can you fly You'll never, never, never reach the sky He smiles at the young soldiers tells them it's all right He knows of their fear in the forthcoming fight Soon there'll be blood and many will die Mothers and fathers back home they will cry Sky pilot, sky pilot How high can you fly You'll never, never, never reach the sky He mumbles a prayer and it ends with a smile The order is given, they move down the line sponsored links But he's still behind and he'll meditate But it won't stop the bleeding or ease the hate As the young men move out into the battle zone He feels good, with God you're never alone He feels so tired and he lays on his bed Hopes the men will find courage in the words that he said Sky pilot, sky Pilot How high can you fly You'll never, never, never reach the sky You're soldiers of God you must understand The fate of your country is in your young hands May God give you strength do your job real well If it all was worth it only time it will tell In the morning they return with tears in their eyes The stench of death drifts up to the skies A young soldier so ill looks at the sky pilot Remembers the words, "Thou shalt not kill" Sky pilot, sky pilot How high can you fly You never, never, never reach the sky Sky pilot, sky pilot How high can you fly You never, never, never reach the sky You never, never, never reach the sky You never, never, never reach the sky You never, never, never reach the sky You never, never, never reach the sky |

I think people realize that 'translation' leaves slight grey areas obviously , mere 'killing' wouldn't be a sin as man had to kill to survive and certain crimes were punishable by death,,so the killing in question was the 'illegal' killing, or murder which I think has the opposite affect from what is claimed about not 'killing' in so much that 'sheeple' are too quick to 'defend' with deadly force, as long as the law does not determine it was illegal,, and we are moving to times when the law just might justify anyone's fear as justification for their use of deadly force to kill,,, scary, because we have ALOT of easily scary people, and quite frankly, a culture that paints certain groups as 'scary' to other groups,,,,inherently |

If you compare Jewish writings on the subject there is no doubt that it was,"Thou shalt Not Murder"! By the very take the Jewish Commandments have on Self-defense! No gray Area there! But,God Forbid if one of those Peasants in the Holy Roman Empire would have stood up for himself, and killed in Selfdefense! It was paramount the Feudal Lords and the Church making sure that wouldn't happen, thus the injunction,"Thou shalt not kill"! |

point! - there is a big difference between killing and murder. i can kill someone who is shooting at my family and that is fine. it is self defense. If on the other hand I go into a liquor store and blast everyone into little quivering pieces, thats murder. , Which i would think every reasonable person can see is wrong. I also can live WITH a gun , and not BY THE GUN, which is an entirely digfferent matter.
