Seahawk -- Hey, Hawkeroo, all I can say is watch out for them Cubs! No, they'll collapse in the first round. If they get there....

Jessica -- I like to look at it as simple math. There are a LOT of people on this site. Law of averages dictates that there have to be some good ones (and I can attest to that, at least insofar as the friends I've made here) -- You're going to hit some clunkers, you're going to run across some who have their own (unhealthy) "agenda" -- and the sad thing is, this makes it all the more difficult for the decent people to try to find other decent people to interact with. When you're suspicious of everyone, to the point of paranoia, it makes it hard for someone to get close....

Lex - you just make so much sense! I've looked at it that way too, it's just hard sometimes to stay 100% positive. I really enjoy your profile! If I had a choice I would just copy and paste it into mine.

It even gave me inspiration to modify mine; to keep away some people, lol!

Jessica -- I keep changing it all the time -- partially out of boredom, partially because it's good writing practice; mostly it's just the short attention span kicking in, and needing an outlet.

I was on a site last year where they match people by percentages, and I ran across someone who was something like 96% friend, 0% enemy -- and I wanted to write to her and say "What the hell is wrong with you, no one is supposed to have percentages like this!" but when I tried to write to her, it turned out she hadn't been active on the site since 1947.

And after that, I noticed a LOT of people NEVER change their profiles at all, and so what you're reading might not have any realtion to what's going on in their lives now. They could be astronauts now, or the Ambassador to Ghana, or who knows what, and you would never know by the profile.

Now, I personally believe the profile is relatively unimportant in the Grand Scheme Of Things on a site like this one, because I think what you do in the forums is generally going to be more current, more "real-time" (not exactly, but close enough), than a profile, in most cases, and will cover a lot more topics, if you post a lot.

But there's still a purpose to the profile, I believe, so I try not to let it go too long without making some adjustments, or adding another picture of a llama or something.

As far as staying positive -- you know, we all have our bad days. One of the really nice things about JSH is the way your friends here will be there for you when you need a little support -- I've never seen anything like it on any of the other 109,242 sites I've been on....

It is very hard to show who you are in a profile, it's almost lost work.

Thanks nvrsaynvr!
