update your java? blushing

It doesn't use java, actually. I do not have Java installed on my computers. A javascript maybe... but that's not the same. Sorry, too technical, right! frustrated

Just FYI, read https://www.java.com/en/download/faq/java_javascript.xml

Which says
" How is JavaScript different from Java?

The JavaScript programming language, developed by Netscape, Inc., is not part of the Java platform.

JavaScript does not create applets or stand-alone applications. In its most common form, JavaScript resides inside HTML documents, and can provide levels of interactivity to web pages that are not achievable with simple HTML.
Key differences between Java and JavaScript:

Java is an OOP programming language while Java Script is an OOP scripting language.
Java creates applications that run in a virtual machine or browser while JavaScript code is run on a browser only.
Java code needs to be compiled while JavaScript code are all in text.
They require different plug-ins."

Yes, it uses java. Inspect Element or view source.
< script type="text/javascript" src="http://chat.mingle2.com/includes/js/external.js" charset="utf-8" >< / script >
< script type="text/javascript">
jQuery ( document ). ready ( function( ){

Actually it uses both. See where it's accessing a "js" file to run java?
If you have FireFox, they have a built in version of java, and it is always turned on in the new version. However you can also download the Oracle Sun Java that is much better and secure.

ok, yep you are right. Whoops, I was meaning jar files.

"While the biggest reason for using JavaScript libraries is obvious (allows you to easily distribute one code for use on many pages), a secondary reason is not. A JavaScript library, when used on multiple pages, is actually more efficient than directly embedding the code inside the library on each page. Once the browser encounters the library the first time around, it saves the containing code in cache. Subsequent requests for the library on other pages will result in the library being loaded from cache, or the speed demon!"

perhaps it has something to do with your cache?

Mine's working.

No, no, mine is working fine. It was fixed. There was an issue with it, but it was addressed and repaired. Thanks for the concern!

It takes little to say that and close your thread, instead of creating an "I'm right and your wrong" debate, eh? bigsmile drinker
