Of course you should tell the person, BUT, the tricky part is knowing when the person would be receptive to your news. Sometimes you do have to wait to tell them, even if you have proof of what's going on.

This is a tough one...I just went through this one and it back fired on me. I lost a very good friend over it, so be careful. I told a friend about her boyfriend and I didn't get the reaction I thought I would.
I always said that I would tell. Now my reaction is HELL NO!!
I would say this one is a tough call for you. I know exactly how you feel about caring about the person that is getting cheated on. BUT in the end...it really depends on how that person feels on the one who is the cheater!!

Having been in that situation often, with friends and spouses, over the years, I don't tell..I wiat, and when they ask, which they will when you are close, I always say.."You need to ask your partner, and if you have this doubt in your mind, perhaps you already know the answer"

Make sure you have proof...it can't be any of this he said or she said crap either!! You have to have real proof. I don't think you really said what kind of proof you had...but I would say it better be something good.
I think this is how I would handle it...this is how I did my brothers cheating girlfriend. She was having an affair with the basketball coach...it was all over the school, so I told the little wench she had to tell my brother or I was going to. UMMM she did tell him!!!
