are there any tv shows that have a normal family that deals with everyday problems on tv today? examples: the cosby show ir the brady bunch.....youngsters look it up

is there any music in popular culture that does not promote promiscuous sex like rihanna, beyonce, shakira, miley cyrus, kesha, jay z, lil wayne

do you think with americas(world wide also) consumption of anti-family values entertainment, that it has anything to do with the decline of marriage and the sky rocketing of divorce

Times are definitely changing.I miss wholesome family shows, but shakira I love her shes awsome.

How about we hold ourselves accountable instead of trying to point blame. The world is about supply and demand. When something has a high demand you see a bigger supply. There aren't many wholesome shows, songs, or video games because people don't want it. Quite a simple idea really, wish more people understood.

My personal opinion on tv shows, music, video games, literature:
1. As parents you can choose what your kids see, read or hear. You as a parent buy their video games or music or allow them to watch tv, computer access. Etc.

2. Even things in poor taste can serve as a discussion point about what makes good choices and about having respect for yourself.

3. The greatest example a child sees is that provided by the parents, and close family.

there are a lot of options out there that promote a different set of values than what we see in a lot of popular culture...that teach respect and consideration. From the behavior I see around me much of the time I know a lot of people do not take the time to look for those.


It;s not difficult to find them though.

one needs cable and look towards disney or nickelodeon,, the children are often disrespectful and mouthy but its closer to 'traditional' families than most mainstream shows

very rarely going to find a cosby or brady bunch anymore,,

'popular' culture will usually be whats outside of the norm, exotic and different sells and if it grabs a large initial audience it is quickly duplicated , until it is the 'norm' and then something else becomes 'pop' ,, like technology, I believe the culture of 'free sex' promiscuity is here to stay,,,

I think a decline in values and an incresse in egotism (what feels good to ME and doesnt kill someone else should be noones business and my right,,,in other words) has contributed to our broken homes and the continued encouragement of those self centered values in media,,,,,

And just to think, I thought it was those dam telemarketers that kept calling my house.... Whoever would have thought it was those 3 free stations that were the cause of this epic downfall... WTF Chuck!!
