"confederate republican" is an oxymoron. The Confederates were Democrats.

They wanted to bomb the compound and end it. But the administration insisted there be evidence. It was mostly a political ploy for re-election.

As a matter of fact one of the seals, when they were flying out of pakistan, was quoted saying "you guys know we just got obama re-elected right?"

Hello! The Confederacy ended when the U.S. Civil War ended, which is when the Confederate states stopped being Confederate states.

in the 1964 senate there were:

22 confederates, 21 of which were democrat(of which one voted for civil rights act) and 1 was republican,,(who did not vote for civil rights)

78 union members, 46 democrats and 32 republicans,
from the UNION States, 45 dems voted for and 27 repubs voted for

in the 1964 house there were:

102 confeds and 313 union

the confed vote on civil rights act had 8 confeds in favor of the bill , ALL DEMOCRAT< none of the republicans,,,,


so, it still stands, that none of the CONFEDERATE REPUBLICANS (republicans from confederate states) voted for the civil rights act

it was split more along the lines of confederacy/union, than republican/democrat,,,
