Maybe someone can enlighten me as to the purpose as to why someone wouldnt have a profile pic. Personally, I will not speak to someone if they dont have a profile pic that shows their face, specifically. Its like being in a dating environment while wearing a paper bag on your head as you go around and introduce yourself to other people. I get a lot of chat requests from people who have no profile pic, kinda drives me crazy. I dont know.... this has just been a pet peeve of mine. Maybe you guys could shed some light... am I the only one that sees the irony here?  NO

I know how ya feel cuz people with pictures are my pet peeve they could be like wanting me to see them,so that I might be attracted to them and like email them or something and then have to come up with something to talk about so I get to know them and possibly get into some kind of relationship and then talk to them all hours of the night when I would rather be doing something else. and to think it never would of happened if she hadn't posted the picture of herself..good grief...

Maybe someone can enlighten me am I the only one that sees the irony here? The top part of the picture cuts off on the forum page but is fully visible on her profile page in ALL of her pictures.  |

lots of reasons for this. some people do not care what you think. some people come here for the forums and not for dating. some people truly don't know how to post a pic. some people are more protective of their privacy and only expose themselves to people they are interested in. bottom line...personal choice. Orrrrrr, they're a scammer or married and don't want you to know who they really are......just saying  Aww Missy, you just gave away two of my secrets. |

I think I'm one of them. If you have a pic on your profile. People will look at you and judge if your pretty, good looking or just an ugly one. Then you can never find your soulmate. Bz they just love you bz your a good looking girl not yourself

i dont think any blind people choose to be that way....so, since i have good eyesight, i prefer to see the person i'm talking to, regardless of how they look, and thats goes for males or females......not a requirement just my personal preference...

yes if you do not have a picture on your profile.. it can be a little deceiving.. case in point.. quite a while back.. I was messaging someone local.. things are going well
but you do not have a pic of herself. . she claimed it was because her Beauty Dru too much attention.. . I finally convinced her to post a picture.. she posted 3.. two we're very nice.. one was very.. sexy and sultry.. I suggested she just does not post the sexy one.. and therefore she would not be drawing attention to herself anymore.. I personally thought to myself.. Wow PhD.. . you landed yourself a looker.. . .hmm. 1 week later.. we were arranging to meet.. she said before we meet. I need to tell you and show you something... those last 3 pics. that I showed you of myself.. well they were me but when I was much younger...hmm.. I thought..ok..sooo . what do you have to show me..  . she posted a picture of .her....recent....self..omg.. I swear I threw ..up ..in my .mouth a little bit... . she must have been 78 years old. . Weighed a good 300 pounds. was missing teeth.. . so I believe not only having a picture up is helpful. but they should be current  . |

Those who have a profile pic of something other than yourself have simply found a different way to represent ourselves. It means something if you take the time to askor be oobservant.
Or it tells us something about them. Hope my fellow mingle friends will forgive me giving myself permission to use your name. NASCAR's name and picture tell us about his passion for racing. dub's cartoon guy makes me think he identifies with that character we grew up watching. Franky's current pic reminds me of survivors, though I haven't asked. there are others I could name, but I think you get the idea that each one has a story. If anyone cares to ask, I tell them what my pics mean to me, besides that I appreciate landscapes. |
