I Am An Irishman's Son
O' warm and sunny, summer morning's worth, It is of thee I sing most graciously, Divulge! ( Enlighten me, ) For I am an Irishman's son In this calm Sea of your grace, O' great and grand earth of my earth, this natural morning's worth, It is your rare beauty I do now embrace, Pray ye now, share your sparkling jewels with me! Touch me! ( Enlighten me, ) For I am an Irishman's son Newly made to lie down in your opulent pastures, made to form words on Old, woven parchment leafs, As here I lay, I do now hunger in wonderment, o'er ye, Divulge! ( Share your rare moments with me, ) For I am a Irishman's son My notebook and pen in hand, these tools I do now thee bequeath, Solemn sentiments in turmoil and passion, given to the living, To be shared in the beyond, Made to be expressed where'er I grieve, Divulge! ( Share with me, ) For I am an Irishman's son And sunny summer mornings, ye can't blame me, for I am my grandmother's youngest Grandson, My Irish father's youngest son, ( Share your grandeur, you're worth with me, ) For I am my loving father's son, I am an Irishman. I'm speechless. Very inspiring. Beautifully written. A window to the soul.
A true Irishman's son found his way home to the bosom of his home land, where the heart resides. |
