Love sometimes wants to do us a great favor: hold us upside down and shake all the nonsense out.
Rumi "If you make money your god, it will plague you like the devil." Henry Fielding |

I can't believe people are debating money or love, you want money go be a gold digger, sleep with someone because there rich be that shallow person our modern society is turning into.... you want to be truly happy forget about the money and follow your heart, we don't NEED to be rich, we dont NEED to have the latest telephone and branded trainers all we need is to be able to survive, a roof over our head, money for bills and food, most importantly we need that person that completes us, the person we live for and who lives for us, if you don't know that feeling you havnt experienced love, I guarantee when your 80, 90, 100 you won't be saying I wish I had bought the latest iPhone when I was younger, you may however be saying I wish I had followed my heart. Money and belongings are short lived, True love lasts a life time.

I've been in relationships where it crumbled under financial strain. Loving and being in love is not enough to survive on. Have you ever seen a person fall in love and stay together homeless and without a job?
It is true that I would fall in love again no matter what their financial status is but that doesn't necessarily mean I would stay with them if they're not trying to better themselves and get out of that slump. |

I've never seen people go through a financial melt down and stay together but I have seen homeless people together and in love. The issue as far as I see it with finances is that for some there will never be enough and they will always want more, why? An increase in finances leads to an improved life style, which is great at the start, but then we become accustomed to that lifestyle and want more, we get more on credit because hey we can afford it, we get better clothes, tv's houses and we slowly creep back into the dark world of financial struggle just at a higher level of living, only this level is the new norm and we simply want more. I'm a firm believer that with true love from both sides a relationship that you can work through anything and working through things will make the relationship stronger.

Don't get me wrong I'm not having a dig but this is what I don't understand. As a single person you can surely buy yourself and your children breakfast and as a single person a prospective partner can afford to buy themselves breakfast. Why therefore do we need to concentrate on more money to buy more breakfast when combined we have enough to buy the breakfast we need. Why should we rely on another person's finances to get what we want or need, shouldn't we rely on ourselves and the fact that together we will have what we need plus love.

I do not want to have to lean on anyone. |

How about being realistic....money. It's hard earned and most of us can touch it, being that it's essential to living. Love exists in another realm just not this one. Unless it stops being a word that gets thrown around and transforms into a verb.

i know that men like to think that money isn't important in a relationship, but there are things that require money, especially if you have kids and want the best for them. love is more important though, and money just helps with everything else. the other slang for gold digger is prostitute. like i have a good bit of money but i wouldn't want someone to be with me just because of that. an in a hate filled world isn't it nice that things like love exist

What is the word then for a man who expects a woman to provide his money? Would that also be Golddigger? or Prostitute? Just Curious? |

money is important, but love goes beyond the natural...
The same love makes you feel complete when you find it. |

love, it's the most valuable thing in the universe. It's so important and valuable there's not enough money in existence that can buy you love.
