Abused children have died this year alone. 41 of which are from Oklahoma. To which half of them were under the age of 2!
We have 1400 flags flying at our State Capital, 41 of our own state flags representing the children from here.

This madness has got to stop.

Horrifying. But, any suggestions on how to make it stop Kat? Or anyone else?

For me, I rarely think we need new laws- this is already illegal so how to prevent?

One other thing that always bothers me is that it seems that the killer (or abusers) are usually the father or the mothers boyfriend or husband.

Are these mothers choosing their spouses over their children or do they really not know?

I really feel that these days that young people should have to have child classes before they have children. Be drug tested if it is waranted. Most of these happen to children of parents using or drinking too much and out of work, living with an abuser for a spouse. I feel that having someone visit the home to stay in touch with a child for at least a year to see how things are progressing. The growth and overall health of the total household.
I am sure there is much more that can be done, but that is a start.

Redirect some of the trillions spent in war making to where it belongs...the family, for a start.

Create new postions of employment, new agencies for humanities with some of the redirected funding.

Train community workers to work with young people who become parents at young ages, if demographically that is where the main areas of abuse is happening.

Create inschool creches in every high school, where parenting classes are part of the programme irrespective of moral issues...support the young mothers and fathers.

Create postions where 'welfare checks' ( the welfare of the families 'at risk' are supervised and monitored) for trained professionals to be able to support the family, and protect a child if it is at risk.

Create awareness of where the families of the US money is really being spent, and DEMAND it back for the families.

Midwives and mothercare nurses who can make housecalls to monitor how the young family is managing for the first six months.

You want your money spent on weapons of death...trillions of dollars, while children suffer these atrocities? Of course not!

Then get indignant and demand it back!!!

Even one trllion dollars would turn it around completely, your country has vast potential of wealth within the federal purses, that need to be redirected back to the health of the entire nation...that's what can be done to help.

Vote in more female representatives.

Mandate a quick hangman's noose for ALL sex crimes.
Records show they go to jail & just come out better at hiding.

Abused/murdered children is becoming a bigger and bigger concern, and yes it usualy is a family member or close friend involved. Wasn't but a few months ago a 6 yr old boy was murdered by a close friend of his grandad just a few miles from me, but not before 1st being sexualy molested. And Jess you are absolutely correct, the gov no longer views family as a top priority or American citizens period....over seas is more of a concern. mad mad mad

Yes Jess, I agree. We should put our money where our mouth is and spend it on life and not death.

Unfortunately, as I was reminded when I made a similar suggestion about spending more money on peace and less on war, war is actually profitable.

I think that making sure our children grow up healthy and strong is profitable as well... just a different kind of profit.

I agree Jess. Teaching children to be good parents before they actually are parents would be a fantastic start.

Children are the future and are more important than all the money in the world. They are the best investment for our buck, and the dividends are to watch them grow-up healthy, educated, and happy!
