Howard Dean, who is still alive, told attendees at a fundraiser for a Democratic congressional hopeful that Republicans “are not American” and would “be more comfortable in the Ukraine or Russia.” He also screamed that GOP supporters should “stay away from our country.”

Dean, a former Vermont governor, a former Democratic National Committee chairman and a 2004 presidential candidate, made the statements last week in a fit of zeal as he was speaking in support of Colorado 6th Congressional District candidate Andrew Romanoff.

“This is a Republican party that has decided they like power so much that they think it’s okay to win by taking away the right to vote,” Dean told the gathered assembly of 750 people at Dora’s Mexican Restaurant in Aurora, Colo.

“They are not American,” he bellowed. “They could be more comfortable in the Ukraine or Russia but stay away from our country. This is based on the right to vote.”

The stem-winder lasted a total of about 12 minutes.

“We have had enough of the politics of anger. We have had enough of the politics of hate. We have had enough of the politics of division,” Dean also said, according to The Colorado Stateman

Romanoff, a one-time speaker of the Colorado House of Representatives, is running in a tight race against U.S. Rep. Mike Coffman, the incumbent three-term Republican.

Dean is currently an independent consultant with McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP, an international law firm.

I disagree with the idea that an 'american' has to espouse to anything specific to be 'american'

if you were born here, you were born American. period

this, I wholeheartedly agree with though

"We have had enough of the politics of anger. We have had enough of the politics of hate. We have had enough of the politics of division"

ironically though, buying into this what an 'american' is or should be rhetoric is part of that hate/division politics Dean claims to have enough of.

Seems to me the the politics of anger and division comes mainly from one side.

Dean is an MD, Massive Dummy. But he is right, Repugantcants should leave the country and the good Dumbocrats should lead the way.

But it sounds like Dean has the onset of dementia and keeps forgetting to take his Prosaic. And just imagine he works for a law firm. Now how can one tell just how full of crap this guy is, why read his biography at the law firm and not just any law firm but a K Street law firm in the Democracy of Conspiracy:

Howard B. Dean

Now with that speech, just how is one expected to take this?

Respected on both sides of the political aisle, Governor Dean served as chairman of the National Governors' Association, the Democratic Governors' Association, as well as the New England Governors' Conference while serving as Governor of Vermont. Governor Dean left office in Vermont to run for President in 2003 where he implemented innovative fundraising strategies such as use of the internet, pioneering techniques used by both parties in the 2008 election.

Personally, I would take it as his strong ability to get obligated to the country ownership. Maybe that is what they meant by being respected on both sides of the isle, sure wasn't that speech.

Of course you would, no doubt.

if you were born here, you were born American. period

Not really, just means you're a citizen on the land. Being American is a concept, one very little understood these days.

this, I wholeheartedly agree with though

This, just what is this? That Odumbo is a tyrannical psychopathic dictator. Ah, plausible deniability, modus operandi.

"We have had enough of the politics of anger. We have had enough of the politics of hate. We have had enough of the politics of division"

Really, where is the proof? Have the political parties been disbanded? Has Odumbo been hung? Don't think so, new faces, same names.

ironically though, buying into this what an 'american' is or should be rhetoric is part of that hate/division politics Dean claims to have enough of.

I would love to hear the basis that would lead to anything other than pure hogwash. I find it incomprehensible that a word can become undefined, so "new age", and still be believed to mean something. Must be one of those "new age" enlightenment rules of entitlement.

Not really, cannot have division until there are two, that is why we have the red team and the blue team. And now the red team wants to hold their parties with and without tea. Now if it's without tea, does that mean it's a kegger? Do the taxpayers get stiffed for the keg without representative drinking?

So many divisions, all but the most important, us against them. So when is the important division going to occur, before or after the revolution?

if this were true, what's the difference from this and inbred republicans that have been telling liberals to move to Canada for the last 12 years. look on Sean Hannity or any of the other popular conservative threads and you will see this.

It depends where you stand, if you are with the red team, it's one way, if you're with the blue team, it's the other way, if your libertarian, you're confused on a different plane, but then if you are awake, it's all just one big ruse to keep the masses from having to accept any responsibility.
