Topic: over coming fear or other.. | |
---|---|
Okay I'm more then worried about starting school even though I officialy do not start until next week, I had to listen to somebody speak monday night and again tonight.
My biggest problem is trying to over come being bored listening to somebody say the same thing over and over again. That and trying to make it through the first week or more of classics. That and the unknow is what is the scares part for me. So any advice or help on over coming the fear of not wanting to be some where that I amost have to go just to get a head in life. I mean my biggest fear is just trying to by pass the first 20 weeks then after that I think I'll be okay. But then I have the burning question in the back of my mind what if this doesn't work out etc. I know the only way I'll ever find out is if I go and try and make the best of it etc. DAMN! over coming this fear really does suck!. and yet in the end I know it will all be for the best. |

Nothing is gained by fretting over things you can't control. I think you're probably thinking too much about it right now. Make a list of all the things that you are looking forward to. Maybe that will help ease your anxieties.

Yeah your right BayAreaGal. I tent to think about the big picture to often instead of slowing down and thinking okay this is one more step to about life a head.
Thanks BayAreaGal. |

I don't know about it being a cakewalk or anything like that, but it surely isn't gonna be easy either.

I try to go into any new situation with the idea that maybe I can learn something from it. Doesn't have to be anything big or important, but I want to learn one thing while I'm there. Maybe two, or three, if it works out.
It can be difficult to do, because I have the attention span of a retarded termite, but if you can focus on it long enough to let yourself get something from it, that's the first step. |

Good point Lex. Guess all I can do is give it a fair shot and say I at least tired it.
I'll try and make it fun air1medic. |

You will do fine.........I know this because I did it........had a great time getting to know the traditional students, and still keep in touch with some of them. Keep your mind open, listen, enjoy, and learn

I cant help you...I study online , University wasn't big enough for the both of us..
I learn better in my home...I can wander around, and lie on the floor, doodle on paper, whatever I want while the lecturer is speaking..didnt go over so well in the lecture hall... I suspect the 'what ifs' have got you... Kick em to the curb, and go into it with a mindset of newness...enjoy the new experiences, and the new friends waiting to be met. The rest just falls into place. (oh, and it is true, you can learn subliminally, just try not to snore ) |

I agree with Bayareagal, you have to try
