Can be. It depends. When there are emotions it's more likely to lead to them dumping you for the other person. Going back to an ex, for instance.

I don't recognize 'emotional affairs'. someone was either physically unfaithful (risking our health and the creation of outside kids) or they weren't emotions wane in life, they sometimes cant be helped like actions can,,

An affair of any sort is a betrayal of your spouse's trust and has the same emotional and psychological effect on the spouse..
