I have two extra special friends
Whose love story has had to end
It wasn't really down to them
But the stupid law has struck again
I found out and could not take stock
I'm sitting here in a state of shock
A marriage was arranged, a date was set
This romance was a certain bet
Friends invited from near and far
Seemed nothing could this romance mar
And now because of the stupid law
The system has just locked the door
They've vowed to stay close and keep in touch
This story it hurts me so much
I will not mention them by name
That could cause unwanted fame
I write this rhyme with a heavy heart
Of thinking that they are apart
They're friends that all who come here know
And saw this affair bloom and grow
To them I dedicate this rhyme
They're friends of mine for all time.
